2027 Rankings: All-Under Recruited Offensive Squad

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><em>***Use Code “ScottyB30” for 30% off your subscription***</em><br><br>With our recent unveiling of the 2027 rankings before the start of the season we wanted to examine prospects we believe are undervalued on the recruiting trail!&nbsp; These are players some committed and others uncommitted who we feel should be recruited at a higher level!&nbsp; Here is the All-Under Recruited Offensive Team!</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Quarterback</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1598810' first='Reece' last='Shanklin'] (East St. Louis)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>East Tennessee State got a steal in Shanklin!&nbsp; The athletic signal caller from the metro east is a dual threat QB that can beat you with both his arm and legs.&nbsp; Surprised that more schools didn't jump in.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Running Back</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1791819' first='Jeremiah' last='Stonewall'] (Crete)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Stonewall is a junior running back who we feel is severely under recruited.&nbsp; The 6'1” back has a combination of size, power, and speed.&nbsp; Great contact balance and is a quality pass catcher along with return threat.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1604137' first='Ahmad' last='Coleman'] (East St. Louis)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Coleman is among the more underrated backs in the state.&nbsp; Playing behind MSJ he doesn't get the shine that he should, but he is a high level pass catcher that is among the better receivers of backs in the state.&nbsp; Also has the power and balance to do damage in between tackles running.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Wide Receiver</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1275281' first='Duran' last='Sims'] (Mt. Carmel)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Sims flies under the radar with the Caravan's two four star pass catchers, but he is still a legit receiver in his own right.&nbsp; Makes highlight reel catches in the air and has a ton of speed!&nbsp; Get the ball in his hands any way because he is a home run threat!</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1274195' first='Damacio' last='Ortegon'] (Montini)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Coming off a great season Ortegon is shifty on shorter routes while being able to get vertical adjusting to the ball.&nbsp; Productive player who is coming off a 1,000+ yard season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2135363' first='Jazarris' last='Mackmore'] (Marian Catholic)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Mackmore decommitted from UIC for baseball, but he is a legit top 100 football player as well as a smooth wide receiver with a nice route tree.&nbsp; Elite speed getting vertical showcasing ball tracking and soft thands.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Tight End</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1271823' first='Tyler' last='McConnell'] (Pinckneyville)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>McConnell is listed as an athlete because he could play as an EDGE at the next level, but will probably be a tight end.&nbsp; Plus athlete who also is a solid hoops prospect as well.&nbsp; The athleticism really pops as a tight end using his 6'6” size and wide catch radius.&nbsp; A lot of FCS interest, but we are stunned there is not more Group of 5 looks.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2105165' first='Reid' last='Brown'] (Olney)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Brown is another southern Illinois tight end that has great size and fluid athleticism.&nbsp; Made a huge jump in our rankings update after we saw him in person in the spring.&nbsp; Quick getting in and out of cuts and knows how to use his size to his full advantage boxing out DBs.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Offensive Lineman</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='901504' first='Carlos' last='Rios'] (Brother Rice)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Rios is headed to San Diego State which is a great G5 program, but we firmly believe he is a P4 talent.&nbsp; The top guard in the class he is a high level pass protector with his base, hands, and mirroring skills.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1344896' first='Brogan' last='Kjellesvik'] (Morris)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Do not understand at all why more schools have not been involved with the Morris offensive tackle.&nbsp; At 6'4” he plays with a ton of physicality and athleticism being able to block in space, put guys on the ground, and be an effective pass blocker.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Cornelius Moore (King)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Florida Atlantic program got a steal in Moore.&nbsp; At 6'6” 330 pounds he is a Power 4 offensive tackle with his size, length, and mean streak that he plays with.&nbsp; The athleticism really popped on the camp circuit.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1335452' first='Ethan' last='Posey'] (Brother Rice)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Miami (OH) got a steal in Posey.&nbsp; Skilled and technically sound offensive lineman that is coming of an excellent junior season at Brother Rice.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2104970' first='Tyler' last='Engstler'] (Downers Grove North)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This is one of the better pure interior offensive lineman in the class.&nbsp; What stands out is his toughness and athleticism on the interior.&nbsp; Technically sound in the run game along with being able to pull in space.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
