The biggest question will be replacing the production at quarterback, but the Bruins have enough returning talent to take a step forward if that position settles in early. He runs with power and falls forward, giving Brooke a dependable option between the tackles, while bringing that same downhill mentality to linebacker. While [player_tooltip player_id='2220776' first='Cole' last='Bolen'] provides plenty of power, Maynard brings a little more burst and speed to the lineup, giving the Bruins a different look. He plays with a high motor, flies to the football, and does a nice job coming off the edge from his outside linebacker spot on defense as well. He's at his best getting to the edge, running off tackle, or catching the ball in space where he can make defenders miss. He's continued to make noticeable strides each year, and as he adds strength to his frame, his role within the offense should continue to expand. His wrestling background is evident in the way he plays with toughness and leverage, traits that fit well in the trenches. He plays with natural leverage, is strong for his size, and does a good job getting out in space to finish blocks when the play calls for it. His long-term future looks to be at quarterback, where he has the size and athletic traits to become the Bruins' next leader under center.
