(Several more edge rusher prospects will jump on our radar over the coming months and year but right now, these are the guys we have either scouted, seen in person or know about going into the 2026 football season)

(Edge) [player_tooltip player_id='1027628' first='Jennaris' last='Henry'] - Alcoa

- You could make the case for Henry being the top linebacker prospect from our TN2028 class, regardless if it's off the edge or working the middle of the second level. Sporting excellent physical abilities and traits, this East Tennessee product brings a unique skill set to the playing field that allows him to do a variety of things. Henry is a wide framed, broad shouldered guy with long arms that helps with taking on and shedding blocks. The Tornadoes junior also shows good bend, lower base agility and explosion that allows him to get around tackles and into the backfield. I can also see Henry working in pass coverage when needed. More work is needed with enhancing his pass rush skill set but I see big potential for Henry getting after the quarterback and developing into an active college pass rusher.

(Edge) [player_tooltip player_id='1177924' first='Langston' last='Robinson'] - Lipscomb Academy

- Some of the best edge rushing upside resides here with the Nashville area prospect that is still growing his body and game, so the future looks very bright for Robinson and his time on the college stage. Standing 6 '3 225 pounds, the Mustangs junior has the look and overall size needed to contend on the next level as well as the athleticism and explosive game play to become a feared pass rusher. His bend and burst are a few traits that immediately stand out when glancing over his film. Robinson is an athletic guy with strength that displays nimble body movements along with arm length and power to create extension, shed the block then chase down the ball. Time will be needed for Robinson to continue forming into who he will become but the ceiling is high and I expect tons of Power Four programs to be in pursuit.

(Edge) [player_tooltip player_id='2147018' first='Carter' last='Sims'] - McCallie

- New to McCallie for the upcoming Fall season, Sims looks to be a big addition to the Blue Tornado defense that brings a versatile skill set to the gridiron with the ability and upside to get after the passer. Coming to Chattanooga from the great state of Arkansas, Sims has a unique game as he displays potential playing the edge or manning the middle but personally, I like his game best on the outside where he can get after the quarterback. The Blue Tornado junior shows a good initial burst with quick feet and sudden lower body movements. He also displays nice bend with closing speed that could cause fits for opposing tackles. Sims does need to spend a good bit of time at the dinner table and in the weight to get bigger and stronger but the raw athletic tools are there to eventually see his recruitment take off.

(Edge) [player_tooltip player_id='2206375' first='Connor' last='Sullivan'] - Page

- The next stud defender to come off the Page defense looks to be this junior edge rusher that is still far from a finished product but presents a ton of next level upside. Sullivan should be stepping into a starting, featured role this Fall where he can establish himself as one of the best edge rushers from the greater Middle Tennessee region and possibly the entire state. The Patriots rising junior is a tall, long edge rusher with a great frame for additional size and the athleticism to cause fits for opposing offensive tackles. Sullivan does need to increase his lower half agility and foot speed while getting bigger but I can see the long term potential with him on the next level. It will be fun to see how Sullivan has progressed over the past year and what he brings to the field this coming Fall season.

(Edge) [player_tooltip player_id='2206403' first='Tomarco' last='Vereen'] - Kirkwood

- A sleeper prospect right now but someone to keep track of this Fall for a potential breakout junior season is this Clarksville area edge rusher that brings the natural athletic tools and upside to the field that translate well to the college game. Vereen has the physical size to be formed into a potential productive edge rusher (6'3 220) along with the lower half athletic movements to cause problems off the edge. The Cobras junior is a long term, big pay off prospect as Vereen has a lot to learn about playing the edge while growing his body but the potential is there for a college staff to develop him into the direction he needs to go. This coming junior season will be big for Vereen to take that next step in his progression and show his worth for the next level. I think he will and establish himself as a top Mid-Tennessee edge rusher.

(Edge) [player_tooltip player_id='1664612' first='Easton' last='Plunkett'] - BGA

- Transferring this offseason to BGA for his final two years, Plunkett is an interesting prospect that I see next level upside with but it will be intriguing to see how he performs on a bigger stage. This 6'3 edge rusher comes from the 2A level but I believe Plunkett will do just fine against stronger competition, especially the further along he gets acclimated with the Wildcats. What stands out about Plunkett is his physical size (6'3 230) and potential at setting the edge versus the run while providing the occasional pass rush. I do see upside in his pass rushing but right now, I think the Wildcats junior is better equipped at stopping the run. Plunkett needs further enhancement with his bend, burst and speed but I do see where those traits can be improved. Watching how Plunkett performs this Fall will be interesting. If he handles better competition, I can see his stock taking a big rise.

(Edge) [player_tooltip player_id='2097875' first='Justin' last='Williams'] - Riverdale

- One of the bigger breakout edge rushers for the coming Fall season could be this Murfreesboro area product that jumped on the recruiting scene this summer by landing an offer from MTSU. The Warriors junior defender has physical traits that translate well to the college game along with athletic upside that still has higher levels yet to be tapped into. Williams is a broad shouldered guy that displays nice bend and burst along with closing speed. He also shows the physicality to set the edge versus the run while sporting the range to string runners out to the sidelines. Adding more weight and overall size is definitely needed for Williams to tap into his full capabilities but I like the athletic upside he brings to the field. College coaches are starting to recognize the potential that I believe you will see on full display this Fall season.

(Edge) [player_tooltip player_id='1027749' first='Sam' last='Keith'] - Beech

- This Mid-Tennessee prospect is one guy in this article that I could see forming into either a college edge rusher or defensive end but that depends on how Keith continues to grow over the next two years. The Bucs junior already stands 6'3 230 pounds, so he has the look but Keith must enhance his agility, bend and speed to form into a legitimate edge guy. What this Mid- Tennessee product does well right now is set the edge versus the run. Keith shows good arm extension and release from blocks as well as enough speed to quickly close on the ball. He does flash pass rush upside on film, which is why I have him listed under the edge rushers right now. This coming season will dictate a lot about the Bucs defender and what position he will ultimately land at on the next level.

(Edge) [player_tooltip player_id='1880414' first='Bronson' last='Norris'] - Goodpasture

- Recently landing his first offer from Arkansas State, Norris is emerging on the scene as one of the better edge rushers coming out of the greater Mid-Tennessee region that could be poised for a breakout junior year. The Cougars pass rusher is an active, physical and strong player with nice bend and the ability to dip his hips to get around blockers. Norris is a technician too that shows a mature pass rush skill set for his age and the understanding of what he needs to do to succeed. The biggest drawback would be his size. Norris only stands about 6'1 225 pounds but he makes up for his lack of height with technique sound game play, solid athleticism and football intelligence. This Mid-Tennessee product can boost his stock in a big way with a highly productive junior year while also showing enhanced burst and closing speed.

(Edge) [player_tooltip player_id='2224053' first='Joshua' last='Kay'] - Powell

- If any college coach is looking for a long term project to mold off the edge, it could be this East Tennessee product that displays some of the best bend and closing speed within this senior pass rusher class. Coming off a 10 sack season as a sophomore, Kay has a unique feel for getting into the backfield and chasing down the quarterback. The Panthers junior uses his long arms and lean build to quickly get around the tackle then turn on his speed to bring down the ball carrier. His motor stays active, which makes things hard for opposing lineman to keep hands on him. What has Kay down at the bottom of this list is that he is lacking a lot of body weight right now and needs to get much bigger and stronger to gain more college traction but the Panthers edge rusher has the potential worthy enough to receive more interest down the road.
