Season Preview - Cornerstone Christian Warriors

Coming off a 6-4 season in 2025 while averaging 35 points per game, Cornerstone Christian Warriors has a solid group heading into the new season. The foundation is there, and they'll be looking to keep building on what they started last year. With longtime head coach Gary Guillory leading the way, one of the most respected coaches in San Antonio, this is a team that should continue moving in the right direction. They've put together a schedule that's going to challenge them every week, with games against some talented programs from Texas and around the country. It'll be a good measuring stick to see where this team stacks up. I'm looking forward to seeing how they handle the competition and who steps up when it matters most. With that said, let's take a look at the offensive side of the ball and break down the players to watch:   OFFENSE:    Seth is definitely a name to watch in the offseason. He can make thing happen in the pocket. He has a strong arm delievers the ball accurately , and gives his receivers a chance to make plays. It'll be interesting to see how the competition plays out, but he has the tools to push the job.     Mateo who has already produce when is number is called. Last season , he threw for 1,221 yards and 17 touchdown with just four interceptions while adding 109 yards on the ground. I love how moblie he can be when he has to be. Thats because of his baseball background. With another year of experience under his belt , he's looking to take his game to another level and put together a breakout junior season.     Jaylen could be the heartbeat of this offense with everything he brings to the field. When he's in the game , the offense just seems to run smoother. He's the type of player who can run like the wind. Last season he rushed for 1,216 and 17 touchdowns. Expect another good season for jaylen. Jaylen holds offer from UIW , North Texas , Miami and more.     Im excited to see what malcolm bring this season. He's the kind of athlete you want on the field because how many position he can. During the spring game , he took snaps at quarterback, line up at the wide receiver , and also played nickel on defense. His versatility gives the coaching staff plenty of options to work with.     Chauncey who played quarterback at Sotomayor HS Last season. Now here at cornerstone will be playing on the defense side of the ball. Don't be surprise if he's also on the offensive side too.     Jaaden is a true possession WR who plays big. He's got the kind of traits you want in a WR, A big target who know how to find sports in coverage. He makes tough catches to move the chains.       Luke a great piece for the warriors offense who can be use in multiple ways. Last season he put up oer 400 yards and found the end zone 6 times, showing he can produce when his number is called. Expect him to take another step this year be key weapon in the offense.     McNeil brings that speed element at wide receiver that can change the game in an instant. He's the type of guy who can stretch the field vertically and take a screen pass for 6. If he gets a step on a defender, it's usually over, and he gives the offense a true deep threat to open things up underneath. Big play potential every time he's on the field. Josiah holds an offer from Washington State.     Joseph transferring in from Royse City HS, looking to step in and help solidify things up front. On his film from last season; joseph does a good job staying balanced through contact, especially in the run game where he can sustain blocks and keep lanes open. He's consistent with his effort and brings a steady, dependable presence that should help strengthen the front line for the Warriors.     Tristen is a transfer from Sotomayor who brings a strong, physical presence to the Warriors. He does a good job getting downhill in the run game and finishing blocks once he locks on. He also shows steady hands in pass protection, staying balanced and not getting thrown off easily.     Brandon is the left tackle looking to pick up right where he left off. He's steady on the edge, does a good job protecting the blindside, and keeps things clean in pass protection. When he's locked in, he sets the tone for the whole line and gives the QB a real sense of comfort back there.     Jaistorm is an offensive lineman who's already turning heads with the level of attention he's getting from major programs, holding offers from schools like Alabama, Miami, UTSA, and more. He plays with confidence up front and carries himself like someone used to competing at a high level. What stands out is how steady he is in his approach he's not rattled, he just gets the job done and sets the tone on the offensive line every snap.     Deliel is an offensive lineman who plays with a gritty, physical style up front. He's consistent with his hands and does a solid job controlling defenders in the run game while staying balanced in pass protection. He competes every snap and brings a reliable presence to the offensive line.    DEFENSE   On the defensive side, the Warriors are flying around with energy and edge, bringing a physical brand of football and a group of playmakers ready to set the tone every snap and make life tough for offenses. Here are some of the guys.    Cole plays with urgency and aggression off the ball and set the tone early in every rep. He does a great jon coming off the edge with good step along with his quickness. Once he gets moving , he can consistency create pressure on quarterbacks and force them off their spot. Cole holds an offer from Stony brook.     Dom is transferring from Sotomayor and adds another fast, physical linebacker to the Warriors' defense. He plays downhill with urgency, always around the ball, and shows up as a tackling machine in the middle of the field. His ability to read and react quickly makes him a consistent presence against the run, and he should fit right into the defensive identity this season.     EJ is a transfer linebacker from Judson joining the Warriors. His physical style and steady approach should help add depth and stability to the linebacker group this season.     Jerry is another transfer from Steele HS joining the Warriors, bringing added depth and toughness to the roster. He's a physical player who competes every snap and understands how to fit into a system quickly. He also holds an offer from UTEP, showing the level of attention he's already earned. With his experience and steady approach, he's another piece that should help strengthen the Warriors moving forward.     Ocha is a transfer from Steele HS joining the Warriors, and on film he stands out right away at defensive tackle. He plays with a disruptive presence inside, consistently getting into the backfield and affecting plays in the run game and pass rush. He brings size, effort, and a steady motor that makes him tough to handle one on one. He a problem in the run game.     Ahzan, an Arizona commit, is looking to pick up right where he left off last season. He put strong film together and now comes back with even more confidence and focus heading into this year. He's the type of player who shows up in big moments and sets the tone with his play, and he'll be looking to build on that momentum and take his game up another level.     Caleb who looks comfortable both inside and outside when covering, giving the defense real flexibility in how they use him. He moves well in space, stays disciplined in coverage, and can match up with different types of receivers. Caleb also shows he's willing to come down and make tackles.     DJ is coming off a strong spring and has carried that momentum right into a solid summer. This year he's settling in at safety, where his length really shows and he can cover a lot of ground on the back end. He's got good ball skills and a natural feel for tracking it in the air, making him a real threat when it comes to creating turnovers. If he keeps trending this way, he's going to be a key piece for the Warriors' secondary.     Elijah is playing with a different mindset more focused, more aggressive, and looking to take his game to another level for the Warriors. Last Season, he recorded 60 tackles, 1 interception, 6 pass breakups, and 3 forced fumbles. Elijah is a rising star. He holds offer from Dartmouth, Georgetown, Nevada.     Jeremiah, who played at Harland High School last season, is a DB who wastes no time making his presence felt. In just his first three plays, he showed he can be a real playmaker on the football, flipping momentum and changing the flow of the game instantly.     Jonah is a linebacker who really stands out when it comes to defending the run. He does a great job reading plays quickly, getting downhill, and meeting ball carriers with confidence. He's active around the line of scrimmage and isn't afraid to step into traffic to make a stop.     Reed is a addition to the Warriors' defense, coming in as a transfer from Medina Valley. He can line up both at edge and linebacker, giving the staff flexibility to move him around based on matchups. He brinngs the ability to set the edge, read plays well, and step up in run support while still having the tools to pressure the quarterback when called on. He's looking to carve out a role and add depth to a defense that's continuing to take shape.    The Warriors look like a group that's continuing to build something real. With playmakers on offense, a defense that flies around, and a coaching staff led by Gary Guillory setting the standard, there's a clear identity starting to take shape. If they keep stacking growth and staying consistent, this is a team that can make noise when it matters most.
