The class of 2028 is littered with talent across the Bluegrass, including at arguably the most important position: quarterback. Several signal callers are looking to take the next step in their high school careers and make a name for themselves this fall. Let's check out a few rising junior quarterbacks worth keeping an eye on before the 2026 KHSAA season.    [player_tooltip player_id='2066921' first='Grant' last='Webb'] doesn't just have a strong arm -- he's powerful, too. He's accurate, throws with confidence, and puts a tight spiral on the football. Webb has proven on multiple occasions his ability to step back and heave the ball 40+ yards with the flick of his wrist. He can also throw the ball into tight windows where only his receiver can catch it. Webb also stands out on the football field. He's every bit of 6-foot-4 and 200 pounds, and can make a defense pay with his feet.     A leftie QB with a cannon for an arm, [player_tooltip player_id='2066924' first='Jasiah' last='McCarley']'s accuracy and playmaking ability immediately stand out when evaluating his tape. He can lead his receiver downfield and throw it to where only his receiver can catch it. A threat to run the ball, McCarley uses his legs to extend plays and is an accurate passer on the move. He's also a patient thrower who looks over his progressions and is smart when throwing the football. Can sell the option well and can make the defense pay in the open field with his speed. He's a patient runner and follows his blocks. Throwing the ball, Martin is accurate on the run and has a strong arm that allows him to hit his receivers deep and in stride for big gains. Ferguson has poise in the pocket and has shown he can step up and avoid the rush. He's accurate when releasing the ball under pressure. When he has to extend the play, Ferguson makes smart decisions with the football and keeps his eyes downfield for open receivers. However, he can run the ball well if given the opportunity and has broken off several chunk plays as a result.
