On Saturday, May 16 I was graciously invited back for (at least) the fourth year in a row by Coach Nick Pennisi, as he hosted his annual PSR Big Showcase. As usual, Pennisi's event has become the premier privately ran camp in the state. My reasoning and justification for this is simple: PSR Big Camps offers maximum exposure for prospects by offering staggered, sequential competition opportunities for aspiring athletes in front of the largest crowd of college coaches, Mega Camps withstanding.

Due to an unfortunately scheduling conflict because of a date change, I regrettably missed the vast majority of the quarterback, receiver, and defensive back session. As such, I only have limited notes on those position groups. However, I was present for the duration of the lineman and running back vs. linebacker segment of the event.

Below are my notes from this event, for the position groups referenced in the subject line.

In terms of interior defensive presence, you will be hard-pressed to find many better than [player_tooltip player_id='1631057' first='Jason' last='Block']. Especially for an interior lineman, Block did a great job stacking his moves. I noted that he flashed rips, clubs, swipes, and even the spin move. One rep, however, he completely telegraphed his chop as he cocked back and loaded up for it - just something for him to be mindful of

Looking to break into an already strong Bloomfield defensive line is rising junior Raymond Agosto. Agosto demonstrated that he knows how to work the rip move inside, and does so with a high degree of proficiency.

[player_tooltip player_id='2044294' first='Colby' last='Muni']'s future might not be at defensive edge. Despite his towering height at 6'4", he is very lean and slender. As such, if Muni continues to play off the edge and wishes to flourish, he needs to make sure his "fastball" is fast - maximizing his speed.

A prospect who I recorded notes on, but was not listed on the final roster, was in jersey #131. This prospect showed more than enough speed off the edge to consistently win and demonstrated the rip move; however, I wish for him to finish his rips with vengeance.
