Preseason X Factors: Page Football

<p>The Page football program finally broke through this season by claiming the state championship trophy behind a perfect 15-0 season.</p>   <p>The team was led by a strong senior core for the large part and those players have since moved on to the next level to continue their football careers. The Patriots will need other players to step up in much larger roles to help fill the void if they want to repeat as state champions in an improving 5A classification.</p>   <p>These five recruits will need to have major seasons next fall if Page wants to win another state championship.</p>   <hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity" />   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">2028 RB [player_tooltip player_id='1571091' first='Isaac' last='Otey']</h2>   <p>Page has always built their offense around a strong rushing attack and it will be up to talented tailback [player_tooltip player_id='1571091' first='Isaac' last='Otey'] to take full control of the position behind a new-look offensive line.</p>   <p>With his running mate gone, he will be tasked with a larger workload and be expected to lead the ground game every single Friday night while working with a talented yet inexperienced front five.</p>   <p>He will be someone that will have to rise to the occasion in the high-profile matchups, something that should not be a problem for him.</p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-x wp-block-embed-x"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/shaynep_media/status/1989511102191763629?s=20 </div></figure>   <hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity" />   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">2028 WR [player_tooltip player_id='2141270' first='Dylan' last='Streeter']</h2>   <p>Page has lost their two most productive receivers (one to Samford, one transferred), so perimeter weapons will have to step up next season for Kansas State quarterback commit [player_tooltip player_id='693877' first='Cameron' last='Kruse'].</p>   <p>Fortunately, there are very talented receiving options that are ready to step into larger roles this season. CPA transfer [player_tooltip player_id='2141270' first='Dylan' last='Streeter'] is someone that I expect to lead the room with his size, speed and fluidity. He was stuck behind some very talented wideouts at CPA and now will have the opportunity to break out at Page.</p>   <p>Streeter and [player_tooltip player_id='2165226' first='Mack' last='Lee'] will form a big and versatile one-two punch for Kruse to target this season for the Patriots.</p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-x wp-block-embed-x"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/shaynep_media/status/2042390907689812226?s=20 </div></figure>   <hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity" />   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">2027 OT [player_tooltip player_id='1570544' first='Preston' last='Ashmore']</h2>   <p>As mentioned earlier, the offensive line will be replacing most of the starting five, but there are plenty of talented trench players that are ready to step up this season.</p>   <p>All the team's linemen are the true X-factor, so the new left tackle will have to provide a reliability that the coaching staff will not have to worry about all season. The Navy commit has the ability to do that this season and will need to show it every Friday night.</p>   <p>He will protect the quarterback's blind side each game and help establish the rushing attack early and often.</p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-x wp-block-embed-x"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/PrestonAshmore/status/2057929358229016825?s=20 </div></figure>   <hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity" />   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">2028 LB [player_tooltip player_id='1801346' first='Taylen' last='Cisneros']</h2>   <p>The Page football program has become a linebacker factory recently and rising junior [player_tooltip player_id='1801346' first='Taylen' last='Cisneros'] is the next prospect to know that it has produced.</p>   <p>He primarily rotated in as an outside linebacker/edge rusher hybrid last season, but should see a more stable role at inside linebacker this season. He has the size, pursuit ability and athleticism to make plays happen and can be a playmaker from the second level of the defense that is a safety blanket for the front seven.</p>   <p>He has a chance to be one of the biggest breakout players in the entire state and that is something that would be huge for the team.</p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-x wp-block-embed-x"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/TaylenCisneros8/status/2062607178809090181?s=20 </div></figure>   <hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity" />   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">2027 CB [player_tooltip player_id='2153600' first='Ryder' last='Casillas']</h2>   <p>With a player transferring out of the program, the Patriots have lost the large majority of a talented secondary room from last season, so the coaching staff will be looking to a standout returner to lead the backend of the defense.</p>   <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2153600' first='Ryder' last='Casillas'] stepped up in a major way last fall when given the opportunity to start at cornerback and provided the team with a stable presence on the perimeter that the defense was searching for.</p>   <p>He will anchor the secondary this season and will be tasked with covering the opponent's top playmaker every game again.
