The outlook is much brighter this fall. Western returns a talented core of experienced juniors and seniors on both sides of the ball, giving the Hornets the leadership and playmaking ability to make noise in the conference. If they can stay healthy, develop consistency, and capitalize on their veteran talent, Western Guilford has the pieces to turn close games into wins and compete for a playoff spot in what is once again expected to be one of the state's toughest leagues.

[player_tooltip player_id='2168270' first='Trejon' last='Davis'] is one of the leaders up front for the Hornets and a key piece of Western Guilford's success. The rising senior has the size, strength, and physicality to develop into one of the top offensive line prospects in the state if he continues progressing at his current pace. While the Hornets should be more balanced offensively this season, they'll still lean on their ground game, and Davis will be the driving force that opens running lanes and sets the tone up front.

[player_tooltip player_id='2238576' first='Caleb' last='Moore'] is one of the top dual-threat quarterbacks in the area and a true playmaker with the ball in his hands. He accounted for 17 total touchdowns last season, throwing for seven and rushing for 10 more. If Moore can limit the turnovers this fall, he has all the tools to put together a breakout campaign. With Western Guilford expected to be more balanced offensively, don't be surprised if he increases his production from nearly 20 total touchdowns to well over 30 this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2238580' first='Jeremiah' last='Dotson'] is one of the top defensive playmakers for Western Guilford. Dotson averaged six tackles per game while showcasing his ball skills with four interceptions last season. A sure tackler with outstanding instincts, he's the type of defender who can change the momentum of a game with a big hit or a timely takeaway.
