Prep Redzone Louisiana is set to begin its latest rankings update Monday with a fresh list for the 2027 class ahead of the group's upcoming senior year.

As part of the update release, we will count down the top 50 prospects in more detail, including a mix of many familiar faces as well as a few new additions.

Here's a look at Nos. 50-41, including one debut and a couple stock-risers.

No. 50 — [player_tooltip player_id='423247' first='Dylan' last='Henry'] — 5-11, 160 DB — Mandeville

The longtime leader for his Skippers recently committed to South Alabama in what could prove a steal for the Jaguars. Henry is a strong, smart defensive back who has always played faster than his listed 40-yard dash times and been just as comfortable playing the back end of the defense, covering in man or getting physical in the box or wrapping up on the outside.

No. 49 — [player_tooltip player_id='1812209' first='Robert' last='Taylor'] — 6-4, 180 WR — Ferriday

The Trojans' multisport standout is one of the stock-risers in this stretch of the countdown and, other than the Ragin' Cajuns identifying his potential and earning his offer, one of the more under-recruited prospects in the state. Taylor is a tall, long target with a springy leap and strong hands and plays with an edge that will serve him well in college.

No. 48 — [player_tooltip player_id='934558' first='Ansinneo' last='Charles Jr.'] — 6-5, 204 EDGE/LB — Lafayette Renaissance

Another Louisiana (Lafayette) commitment, the local multisport standout was among the earliest prospects on the Prep Redzone Louisiana radar going back about three years. And, after having his recruitment likely slowed some by injury, Charles remains among the intriguing potential steals in the class as a long, athletic and versatile player in the defensive front seven.

No. 47 — [player_tooltip player_id='1251694' first='Jaylen' last='Haywood'] — 6-7, 275 OL — Amite

The Warriors' big offensive lineman has always had can't-miss measurables for the next level and has worked to continue to improve his conditioning and footwork to prepare for the next level where his offer list now includes Tulane, Oklahoma State, Texas State, Southern Miss, Nicholls State and McNeese State.

No. 46 — [player_tooltip player_id='940554' first='Trenajh' last='Smith'] — 6-1, 170 DB — South Terrebonne

The longtime Prep Redzone Louisiana favorite remains, in our estimation, one of the state's more under-recruited prospects in the class. Smith is long, wiry and instinctive cornerback with good hands and a willingness to wrap up and tackle on the perimeter. He has been an all-state candidate throughout his prep career with great production for his Gators and continues to check boxes at college camps with vertical and broad jumps consistently among the best in his position group.

No. 45 — [player_tooltip player_id='1594309' first='Maison' last='Smith'] — 6-3, 275 DL/OL — University Lab

The Cubs' two-way trench standout burst onto the radar as an underclassman defensive tackle and continued to establish himself as a top offensive lineman as well. He recently committed to the Ragin' Cajuns where he is expected to focus (at least initially) on the defensive side where he has the size, explosiveness and agility to be a disruptive force on the interior.

No. 44 — [player_tooltip player_id='1782867' first='Prentice' last='Mackyeon Jr.'] — 6-1, 190 DB/LB — John Curtis

One of the senior leaders of a loaded Patriots secondary, Mackyeon is a versatile playmaker on defense with his thick build, physicality, instincts and ball skills. He has zeroed in on Tulane, Louisiana (Lafayette), Memphis, Arkansas State and Oregon State as top college options and has been projected to a safety/linebacker hybrid role that should be a great fit for his game.

No. 43 — [player_tooltip player_id='1357863' first='Kobe' last='Smith'] — 6-2, 260 EDGE/DL — Avoyelles

The three-sport standout for his Mustangs has produced at a high level throughout his high school career as a powerful and tenacious defensive end and has continued to develop both physically and technically and look more and more the part of the potentially versatile defensive lineman at the next level when he moves down to Louisiana (Lafayette) with goals to crack the lineup early.

No. 42 — [player_tooltip player_id='2227468' first='Aymaud' last='Sykes'] — 6-0, 175 RB — Grant

The Cougars' star opened eyes with a 10-touchdown performance early in his junior season and gained recruiting traction throughout the spring. Sykes has good size for the next level and a track background that shows in the open field, and his quick feet and balance through traffic and ability as a pass-catcher make him a well-rounded weapon that has programs such as Tulane, Duke, Arkansas and Northwestern now on his offer list and LSU and others monitoring.

No. 41 — John Walker V — 6-1, 175 WR — Plaquemine

The Green Devils' star is slated to continued a longstanding pipeline from Plaquemine to Lafayette and has the potential to be among the best in that lineage. Walker has been a go-to weapon for his team since he was an underclassman with his tall, long frame and speed and has continued to develop with his coaches and teammates often praising his mentality and work ethic.
