Highest Impact Offensive Transfers in Class AA/A This Season

Class AA/A saw several notable offensive transfers this offseason, with players changing programs for a variety of reasons while creating new opportunities for themselves and their new teams. Some are expected to step in as immediate stars, while others fill critical needs that could help push a contender over the top. In this series, we're breaking down the offensive transfers who have the best chance to make an immediate impact during the 2026 season and could play a major role in shaping the Class AA/A playoff race.    Oak Hill -> Independence   Independence found a two-way playmaker with the addition of 2027 ATH Carson Treadway. After three productive seasons at Oak Hill, Treadway brings size, athleticism, and proven playmaking ability to a Patriots team looking to replace several key skill players. His versatility allows him to line up at both running back and receiver offensively, while also giving Independence a disruptive defender off the edge. Few players in Class AA can impact the game in as many ways, making him an ideal fit for what the Patriots needed this offseason. Treadway headlines an impressive transfer haul and gives Independence another weapon capable of elevating the team's ceiling this fall.     George Washington -> Buffalo   Sometimes all a player needs is an opportunity, and 2027 QB Mark Blankenship has earned his. After patiently waiting behind talented quarterbacks at George Washington for three seasons, Blankenship heads to Buffalo with a chance to lead an offense that produced big numbers through the air last season in a new offense. The move to Class AA gives him an excellent opportunity to showcase the progress he's made, and he'll have a quality group of skill players around him to help make the transition. Blankenship has continued to develop his game over the years while staying ready for his moment, and that patience now has the chance to pay off. Don't be surprised if he puts together a breakout senior campaign and keeps Buffalo's offense operating at a high level.     Silsbee (TX) -> Sissonville   One newcomer who should make an immediate impact in Class AA is 2028 OL Adarian Pauley. After relocating from Silsbee (TX) to Sissonville, Pauley gives the Indians another imposing presence up front with his 6'3 300 frame. He joins an offensive line that already had plenty of promise, making the unit even more formidable heading into the season. Pauley has already earned his first college offer from WV State, and his recruitment should continue to gain momentum once he begins putting West Virginia film together. He's a significant addition for Sissonville and a player whose stock could rise quickly over the next two years.     Shady Spring -> Independence   Independence was already expected to feature one of the better offensive lines in Class AA, and the addition of 2028 OL Peyton Wade from Shady Spring only strengthens that outlook. One of the top offensive linemen in the 2028 class, Wade gives the Patriots another talented blocker to plug into an already loaded unit. He should compete for and earn a starting role up front, adding depth, physicality, and long-term stability to the trenches. With the pieces Independence has assembled, Wade has a chance to become an important part of one of the classification's top offensive lines over the next two seasons.     Calhoun County -> Roane County   One of the more intriguing under-the-radar additions in Class AA is 2027 QB/ATH Brennen Carpenter. After a productive career at Calhoun County, Carpenter heads to Roane County with the opportunity to take over at quarterback for the Raiders. Moving from one of the state's smallest schools to one of the more consistent Class AA programs will be an interesting transition, but his skill set fits what Roane County wants to do offensively. While the Raiders have found success with their Wing-T attack, Carpenter has the athleticism to make plays with his legs while also giving the offense the flexibility to throw the ball more when needed. If everything comes together, don't be surprised if Carpenter puts together a breakout senior season.     Weir ->Madonna   Few players will mean more to their new team than 2027 RB/LB Thomas Davidson. After transferring from Weir, Davidson stays in Weirton for his senior season and gives Madonna a proven playmaker as the Blue Dons return to the field after sitting out last year due to low numbers. Davidson was a productive contributor at Weir and now steps into a situation where he'll be counted on to make a big impact on both sides of the ball. His experience and ability make him an ideal player to help lead Madonna as it begins building the program back up. Expect Davidson to emerge as one of the better small-school transfers this season.     Belfry (KY) -> Logan   Logan may have found its quarterback of the future in 2029 ATH/QB Greg Williams. The former Belfry (KY) standout enters the season competing for the Wildcats' starting job, and his athleticism gives the coaching staff plenty of flexibility regardless of where he lines up. If Williams wins the quarterback competition, he'll bring a different style than Logan has featured in recent years, adding another dimension with his ability to create plays on the ground while still developing as a passer. The Wildcats are looking for someone to emerge at the position, and Williams has the talent to answer that call. No matter how his sophomore season unfolds, he gives Logan a promising young building block to develop over the next three years.     Chapmanville -> Mingo Central   Speed is something you can't teach, and 2027 WR/DB Mahryon Corbett brings plenty of it to Mingo Central. The former Chapmanville product has yet to put together a breakout football season, but his track background gives him a skill set that can change that quickly. Whether the Miners use him at receiver, in the return game, or on defense, his explosiveness should allow him to carve out a role right away. With a fresh opportunity entering his senior season, Corbett has all the tools to emerge as one of the more pleasant surprises in Class AA this fall.     Mingo Central -> Tug Valley   Tug Valley added an explosive athlete to its roster with the arrival of 2028 WR/DB Mattox Sartin from Mingo Central. A standout on the basketball court, Sartin has the athleticism and speed to become an immediate weapon for the Panthers on the football field as well. He gives Tug Valley another playmaker to work into the offense and has the type of big-play ability that fits well at the Class A level. With plenty of returning talent already in place, Sartin is another valuable piece as the Panthers look to make a deep postseason run this fall.     Robert C. Byrd -> Lincoln   Opportunity is knocking for 2028 QB Bear Saab at Lincoln this season. After transferring from Robert C. Byrd, Saab steps into a program with an opening at quarterback and every chance to earn the starting job. The Cougars have built an offense that loves to throw the football around, giving him an ideal opportunity to showcase his arm after waiting for his varsity chance. Replacing a multi-year starter is never easy, but Saab has the potential to keep the offense moving in the right direction. If he settles in quickly, he could be the piece that helps lead Lincoln back into the playoff picture this fall.
