Four 2030 TE Prospects to Know in Tennessee

With each new offseason comes a new wave of talent at the high school level with the arrival of a potential-filled rising freshman group.   As the state keeps investing more and more into youth development, the young talent in the state of Tennessee has become exponentially better at an earlier stage as the state began to see with the impact that 2029 class immediately made last season.   In a strong group of rising freshman tight ends, these four 2030 prospects will be players to know as they look to start within the next two seasons.   <hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity" />   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">2030 TE [player_tooltip player_id='2221355' first='Lawson' last='Ford'] — Collierville High School</h2>    [player_tooltip player_id='2221355' first='Lawson' last='Ford'] is an exciting young tight end prospect with a well-rounded skillset and the potential to be a complete player at the position.   He already has very good size at 6-foot-5 and likely around 220 pounds, but does not sacrifice the movement skills to be a large receiving target as well.   His size gives him strong upside as a blocker as he refines his technique and inevitably adds more mass to his frame while working with the coaching and strength staff at the high school level. He has had plenty of opportunities to show his blocking potential already and has been the first to the punch.   As a receiver, he can run routes from an in-line, H-back or receiver alignment and moves very well for someone his size at his age.   He runs the common tight end routes right now and is able to work himself open consistently in these situations. He has also shown flashes of finding the blind spots when attacking zone defenses.   He is a good athlete that also shines in baseball during the offseason.   EXPECTED ROLE IN 2026: He will sit behind some seniors to develop for a year before having a prime opportunity to start in the 2027 season.    <hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity" />   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">2030 TE [player_tooltip player_id='2147935' first='Karrson' last='Wimley'] — Smyrna High School</h2>    [player_tooltip player_id='2147935' first='Karrson' last='Wimley'] is a dynamic young tight end in the state of Tennessee with a ton of upside as a natural playmaker.   He has a good, strong frame for his age with an exciting ability as a vertical leaper, a combination that makes him nearly impossible to cover in contested catch situations, something that was very evident in 7-on-7 events.   His large catch radius, explosive leaping ability and sure hands could make him a reliable target over the middle of the field with proper development.   While he needs to improve his initial explosiveness, he moves well and can snap off out-breaking routes efficiently, which allows him to be especially effective on hitch routes.   He is a versatile athlete that can be used all over the formation, including being an effective downhill rusher at the middle school level. Multi-sport athlete that also plays basketball in the offseason.   EXPECTED ROLE IN 2026: He should be able to impact games right away as he gives Smyrna an exciting young playmaker to develop over the next four years.    <hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity" />   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">2030 TE [player_tooltip player_id='2126231' first='Cornelius' last='Wade'] — Rockvale High School</h2>    [player_tooltip player_id='2126231' first='Cornelius' last='Wade'] is a young tight end prospect in the state of Tennessee with very good length and upside.   Standing around 6-foot-3, he possesses a long, lanky frame that already gives him a large catch radius and has shown some flashes of strong ball skills.   He is a fluid mover that can likely develop into a solid route runner and create yards after the catch. With his frame and athleticism, he is especially effective up the seams and in the red zone.   Multi-sport athlete that plays basketball, where his size and athleticism show up and translate to the hardwood. Can already dunk.   EXPECTED ROLE IN 2026: He is a high-potential tight end that will need some development, but has the tools to be an exciting receiving tight end prospect. He will sit and develop this year, before having the opportunity to compete for a legitimate role in the 2027 season.    <hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity" />   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">2030 TE [player_tooltip player_id='2112087' first='Hudson' last='Robbins'] — Bradley Central High School</h2>    [player_tooltip player_id='2112087' first='Hudson' last='Robbins'] is a young tight end prospect in the state of Tennessee that showed well in 7-on-7 events early in the offseason.   He has solid size for his age and moves well, which allowed him to get open in the intermediate and underneath parts of the field at a reliable rate.   He has the frame to be a H-back that can make an impact in the receiving game on the common tight end routes right now with the upside to expand his game as he continues to grow physically and athletically.   Multi-sport athlete that plays baseball in the offseason.   EXPECTED ROLE IN 2026: He will develop with the strength and coaching staff during his freshman season before likely seeing some snaps as a sophomore during the 2027 season.
