Explosive WPIAL Offensive Players Gearing Up for Big Senior Years

A number of explosive offensive players in the WPIAL are gearing up for encore performances to close out their high school seasons. Here are five players that will be game changers once again in the fall.    Coming off a 1,000-plus yard season in 2025, <a href="https://prepredzone.com/player/jayce-powell/">[player_tooltip player_id='914738' first='Jayce' last='Powell']</a> is primed for another massive season. Powell is an excellent route runner. He is subtle in his movement, but deceptive to get past defenders. He is quick with mid-air adjustments to pull in catches. Most notably, Powell is dangerous in the open field. Powell's speed is evident as he can take accelerate to another gear and can churn out explosive plays anytime he touches the ball. He also possesses great ball skills, illustrated by a smooth one-handed catch against Ligonier Valley that he then took to the house.     [player_tooltip player_id='916180' first='Myontae' last='Mott'] rolled for over 1,000 yards as a junior for Bishop Canevin. He returns looking to surpass that total in 2026. Mott is patient around the line of scrimmage and then finds a hole and barrels down field. Oftentimes, he disappears in a crowd for a moment and then reappears. He's extremely difficult to bring down and easily breaks through ankle tackles. Mott is a do-it-all back as well for the Crusaders as he can catch and run out of the backfield. The rising senior is slippery and can get Bishop Canevin into the end zone in a hurry.     [player_tooltip player_id='1624099' first='Will' last='Waskiewicz'] is set to be one of North Catholic's top offensive weapons once again. He's very good with the ball in his hands and is elusive with the ability to turn nothing into something. He possesses impressive balance and control to go up and haul in a pass while coming down and staying on his feet to add yardage. Waskiewicz is a solid route runner, but his best attribute is his straight-line speed as he burns past defenders to create a deep threat.     [player_tooltip player_id='1555556' first='Tyler' last='Eber'] has been one of the most dominant running backs in the WPIAL over the past few seasons and he will have one more go around to display his dominance. He is the definition of a workhorse back who averages nearly 30 carries per game. Eber is extremely hard to track down and is explosive out of the gates. He's a big-tome gamebreaker with breakaway speed when he gets in the open. He's really good at breaking through tacklers, but more often than not, he runs freely down field because of his explosiveness and ability to run away from defenders. With another year to grow off the field, Eber is bound to have a major season and be one of the top running backs in the state.     [player_tooltip player_id='2238360' first='Quinton' last='Olsen'] was just shy of reaching 1,000 receiving yards in 2025. He is a dynamic receiver that works well in the slot. Olsen can create with the ball in his hands. He has really good vision and picks up blocks nicely to add yards after the catch. Without the ball, he effectively exposes defenders weak spots so he can work open and then go up and pull in receptions. He has good length and a wide catch radius with the ability to adjust to bring in passes.
