June is one of my favorite months of the Prep Redzone Calendar because we get to start preseason content. One thing I loved last year was taking the time to break down players by classification. Players in the smaller classifications get overlooked, so we want to make sure to properly cover those classes. Here, we'll look at five wide receivers to know in North Carolina's 3A and 4A classifications.

Editor's Note: Check out our other 3A/4A Breakdowns
QBs
RBs

The 3A Class in particular returns several key playmakers on the outside.

[player_tooltip player_id='1421082' first='RJ' last='Lynch'] | Lincolnton

Lynch is electric, one of the fastest players in the state, with a 4.52-laser-timed 40 at our Prep Redzone Exposure Camp. The rising junior is the top returning 3A receiver with over 1,100 receiving yards and 15 touchdowns last year. Lincolnton is one of the best teams in the state when it comes to creatively getting its playmakers the ball, and Lynch ran for nearly 500 yards and had a 72-yard touchdown pass last season.

[player_tooltip player_id='483642' first='Immanuel' last='Collins'] | Shelby

Collins is one of the hardest workers in the state, and he'd probably have even better raw numbers if he didn't share targets with several other talented receivers. Still, the speedy slot receiver joins Lynch as the only other returning 3A receiver with at least 1,000 yards last season. He's explosive and almost impossible to bring down in the open field. Accordingly, he's one of the top yards after catch receivers in the state.

[player_tooltip player_id='2003826' first='Cainin' last='Glover'] | Eastern Randolph

Glover is one of the top 2029 receivers in the state, and a guy we think could have a huge season in 2026. He split targets with an outgoing senior, and the Wildcats return their quarterback, so the chemistry is already there, and the targets should increase. He flashed both the ability to get deep and to work underneath the coverage to move the chains.

[player_tooltip player_id='1596853' first='Ryder' last='McClure'] | Bandys

McClure is one of the top prospects in the state, but he also excels on the field. He's the top returning receiver to the 4A class after finishing last season with almost 1,200 yards and 18 touchdowns. He's an excellent kick returner and a guy who thrives with the ball in his hands, whether on screens, short passes, or special teams.

[player_tooltip player_id='1351177' first='Xavier' last='Cuthbertson'] | West Craven

Cuthbertson often operated as a safety blanket for West Craven, but still ended up nearing 1,000 receiving yards. He also averaged eight yards per rush for the second year in a row, with four touchdowns and almost 500 yards on the ground. West Craven has some young options on the outside, and Cuthbertson is now the veteran, a guy who could see his volume increase for the second straight season.
