Chadron's Trae Owlsey is a new prospect on our radar who you should expect to see in the upcoming rankings update. Trae had a solid junior season at receiver and DB, tallying eight receptions, 136 receiving yards, three total touchdowns, 33 tackles, and two interceptions. On defense, Trae is a quick-reading safety who can sharply break downhill to go help against the run or fluidly flip his hips to drop back into coverage. Overall, Trae showed that he does not shy away from physicality either in the run or pass game. He does a great job getting good pursuit angles on the ball and breaks down to use proper technique to ensure the stop. In coverage, Trae will use his lengthy reach to get his hands up and disrupt passes in the air or when trying to pop the ball out of the receiver's hands at the catch point. As a receiver, Trae could attack all levels of the field, whether he was using his speed to stretch defenses vertically, finding ways to get open near the sticks, or taking quick dump-off passes for big gains after the catch. Good vision to navigate traffic while carrying the ball. Trae also brings additional value as a speedy return man.

Here is another Western Nebraska prospect with upside on both sides of the ball. Scottsbluff's [player_tooltip player_id='2203486' first='Daniel' last='Young'] is an up-and-coming player who is set to take on bigger roles on both sides of the ball after recording 18 tackles, a TFL, an interception, a fumble recovery, 26 carries, six receptions, 198 rushing yards, 107 receiving yards, three rushing touchdowns, and a receiving touchdown. Daniel's versatile skillset makes it hard to project him to one position, but with his combination of size and speed, I could see him playing receiver at the college level. He displays great burst coming off the ball with the ability to get a clean release from defenders at the start of his route. Young's underrated speed allows him to quickly challenge DBs vertically before making a quick move at the break-off point. Strong hands. Daniel's playmaking ability with the ball in his hands was impressive, as he could find small creases to attack or use his strong contact balance to keep himself upright through contact. At 6'3" and 185 pounds, I could also see Daniel playing a S/nickel type role where he can use his range to cover from sideline to sideline while also being a bigger body to fill the box with.

Lincoln Northeast has a very underrated defense filled with talent, including senior [player_tooltip player_id='2135276' first='Telemekus' last='Alexander'], a bulldozer at LB and RB. Telemekus had 40 tackles, six TFLs, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery. The Rockets might also look at unleashing Telemekus on offense a bit more after recording 132 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries (11 ypc). Watching Telemekus' tape, I was impressed with his willingness to be physical and throw his bigger, stronger frame around at the point of attack. At 6'0" and 205 pounds, he can really lay the wood when he gets to the ball carrier and is a near-lock to win any matchups with RBs in the gap. Alexander shows good gap integrity in his run fits and has the closing speed/range to break on the ball to shut down any runs to the outside. Strong hands and an explosive punch help him easily press blockers off of him at the line of scrimmage. At RB, Telemekus is a great change of pace back who can step in and chip away at defenses with his physical, angry runs.

Nebraska City's [player_tooltip player_id='1085915' first='Xavier' last='Moore'] goes into his senior season as a battle-hardened three-year starter on the offensive line for the Pioneers and will look to close out his prep career on a high note. Xavier's biggest strength is his consistent technique on every play. He does a great job using his natural leverage to win at the point of contact and has a powerful base that helps him drive defenders off the ball. Xavier moves well in space and plays with good footwork when executing blocks. I hope to see more of Xavier's junior tape soon!

It's surprising to see Kearney Catholic's [player_tooltip player_id='1085634' first='Jacob' last='Bosshamer'] still flying under the radar on the recruiting trail after two great seasons as a starter and an 11-1 season that almost resulted in a trip to Memorial Stadium. Jacob battled injuries throughout the season, but that didn't stop him from flashing as he recorded a 63% completion rate, 1,414 passing yards, 106 rushing yards, 15 passing touchdowns, three rushing touchdowns, and a 117.8 QBR. Although Jacob may be considered "undersized" by some metrics, it's clear that he has the arm talent to compete at the next level. He is able to complete passes to all levels of the field and can do so by lofting up a bomb over defenders' heads or zip a bullet into a tight window. Jacob's football IQ is also clear as he can effectively read defenses and move through his reads while making accurate, smart decisions with the ball (only two INTs). Good mobility in the pocket to evade pass rushers and extend plays with his legs.
