He holds three offers from the summer and is a top-tier track athlete that runs an 11.01 100-meter dash and a 23’9 long jump which is a Scottsbluff school record. Daniel as a safety has instinctive vision and has the long range you might expect with his 6’3 185 pound frame. The athleticism has surely peaked on both sides of the ball as a ball carrier and in the receiving game as in Week 6 he had four receptions for 132 receiving yards and two touchdowns. A lot of position flexibility either as a wide receiver or safety at the next-level. Most of the time I don’t say a prospect is under the radar with offers, but Daniel is one that is flying under the radar in the Nebraska Panhandle.

Scottsbluff’s Daniel Young Daniel Young 6'3" | 185 lbs | DB/ATH Scottsbluff | 2027 State NE is an up-and-coming player who is set to take on bigger roles on both sides of the ball after recording 18 tackles, a TFL, an interception, a fumble recovery, 26 carries, six receptions, 198 rushing yards, 107 receiving yards, three rushing touchdowns, and a receiving touchdown. Daniel’s versatile skillset makes it hard to project him to one position, but with his combination of size and speed, I could see him playing receiver at the college level. He displays great burst coming off the ball with the ability to get a clean release from defenders at the start of his route. Young’s underrated speed allows him to quickly challenge DBs vertically before making a quick move at the break-off point. Strong hands. Daniel’s playmaking ability with the ball in his hands was impressive, as he could find small creases to attack or use his strong contact balance to keep himself upright through contact. At 6’3″ and 185 pounds, I could also see Daniel playing a S/nickel type role where he can use his range to cover from sideline to sideline while also being a bigger body to fill the box with.
