Top Prospects Earn First Offers, Make Verbal Pledges

Here are four standouts who pop on film and have taken their recruiting up a notch with strong showings during spring ball.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Brownsburg wide receiver <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1429135' first='Branden' last='Sharpe']</strong> gave the Indiana Hoosiers his verbal commitment, and what the Hoosiers are getting in Sharpe is a proven playmaker. Sharpe is dangerous after the catch with the ball in his hands. His vision, speed, juice and craftiness as a route runner presents matchup problems for opposing defenses. He also causes headaches on kickoffs, where he is an outstanding return specialist with great vision and change of direction.  Hoosiers landed a big-time playmaker.t</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Lehigh landed a verbal commitment from Greencastle quarterback <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='546688' first='Cole' last='Stephens']</strong>, who led the state in passing yardage last season and looks to return for an even bigger 2026.  Stephens has a cannon for an arm, hitting receivers in stride deep. He is also mobile enough to elude rushers and buy time with his legs. Totaled 3,747 yards passing and 41 passing touchdowns last season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Jahlil Durrett</strong>, a Class of 2027 wide receiver from [player_tooltip player_id='1630653' first='Ben' last='Davis'], is a crafty route runner who can get open over the middle of the field and make yards after contact. Durrett gets open around the goal line/short yardage and displays great hands and adjustment back to the ball. Franklin College offered him last week, his first offer.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Noah Dearman</strong> is a big-time contributor for defending state champion Brownsburg. Dearman is a receiver on offense, safety on defense, and also contributes on special teams as a kickoff coverage man where he is quick to get downhill and make open-field tackles. On defense he flashes good closing speed and takes good pursuit angles. If Dearman finds a crease at the second level with the ball in his hands, he can be a home-run threat.
