On Wednesday, May 6th I was invited down to The Hun School of Princeton by my friend, colleague, and quarterback guru Tony Racioppi as the top school in New Jersey hosted their private, on-campus college showcase.

Because Hun is not governed by the NJSIAA, they are allowed to announce open showcase dates for colleges to visit campus and evaluate their talent. As such, schools including Georgia, West Virginia, Boston College, UMass, Louisville, Florida, Nebraska, Maryland, Monmouth, and Rhode Island - amongst many others, were all in attendance.

The showcase first featured a team dynamic warmup, followed by agility and explosion drills. All these provided myself and the college coaches in attendance to see exactly how athletic and mobile the team was. From there, the team broke into indy periods. I was unaware of the showcase's run of show and as such, I unfortunately did not get an opportunity to evaluate neither defensive linemen nor defensive backs during indy. The event concluded with approximately an hours worth of routes on air.

Getting a first hand look at all the talent Hun has to offer, below are my scouting notes for the prospects specified in the title of this article. These prospects' hometown are in the state of Massachusetts.

Be sure to follow me on Twitter for the latest New Jersey high school football prospect news and not miss a beat!

Without even confirming his position, I was able to tell that Dante Berger, an Andover, MA resident, was a running back. I thought that Berger had quick feet and a low pad level. What was most reassuring about him, however, was that he finished each and every drill or rep he took. Berger might not be the best receiving option out of the backfield though - I noticed him clamp at the ball when catching it when he started behind scrimmage.

Jake Broggi was an athletic linebacker that I think has the versatility to play both inside and outside the box. Hailing from Wellesley, MA, Broggi showed that he can move well in all directions. My initial instinct was to label him a box linebacker due to how quickly he got to his spots, but my opinion quickly changed. Broggi showed that he can cover ground well enough to bounce between the second-level positions. Lastly, I thought he had very good hips for a linebacker.

It looks like whatever high school in Wellesley, MA, has taken some hits, as Brandon Hollingsworth joins Broggi and the next player mention in this article as defectors to The Hun School. Also a linebacker, Hollingsworth was an efficient mover - he neither wasted movement nor took false steps, doing so low and with strong pad level too, Lastly, Hollingsworth showed a good burst down hill.

One of the most revered and talked-about prospect in New Jersey, Lukas Prock, is actually from Massachusetts. Completing the trifecta of Wellesley, MA imports, Prock is every bit of the billing. First, Prock's throwing motion was identical to his younger understudy. That motion featured an extremely quick release that was somewhere between 3/4ths and overhead delivery. These two attributes are a tribute to the work he puts in with his quarterback coach Tony Racioppi. Furthermore, there was absolutely zero - and I mean none whatsoever - deviance in the rotation of the ball he threw. The spin rate Prock put on the rock was insane. It looked as though the stripes were pained on, static, and the ball was not moving. Aside from his motion, release, and the ball coming off of his hand looking identical, he had nearly identical ball placement on his throws. With about an hour of routes on air being ran, I estimate that Prock probably threw about 150 passes on the day; however, his most impressive throw in my eyes came when he was featured on PAP rollout away from his handedness. With his shoulders totally opened and parallel to scrimmage, he delivered a dart that was placed in a position where his receiver did not have to slow down. If that was not his best throw, then the string he pulled on a gorgeous tight end out-and-up was. Two throws that I thought he has an opportunity to polish a bit more were wheels and circus routes. From the look I got, I thought he did not lead his target toward the sideline enough - something that could, perhaps, be refined with tending to his foot arrow.

The Hun School of Princeton Showcase Coverage

Pennsylvania Prospects
Massachusetts Prospects
