Rivera shows he is explosive downfield and can get over the top of safeties while making contested catches in traffic with high-point abilities and strong hands. He is a precise and smart route runner that is technical and can get into defenders blind spots. After the catch, he has a strong initial burst and open field speed with some wiggle to make tacklers miss and force poor angles in space. He is a high motor kid that can quickly knife into the backfield and win with speed or power rush moves and is twitchy for his size with a massive frame and tons of upside at the P4 level in college. He is explosive in the open field, sees the field well inside the tackles and can run physical with contact balance and short area twitch and is a natural ball carrier that looks for contact and runs hard inside.
