Coleman put together quite a sound showing on the afternoon. The rising senior measured in at 5105 172 and tested 4.70x40, 4.25 pro shuttle, 9'6 broad jump. Showed foot and lateral quickness, was smooth in his backpedal, sharp in transition and disciplined with his eyes. Did a good job staying in phase during one on ones, maintaining leverage across the middle, getting his head around without losing speed and position on the deep ball. Coleman has suitors from lower divisions currently, should have a productive camp season.

Butler was another freshman-rising sophomore that was a pleasant surprise on the afternoon. The 15 year old displayed sound technique and fundamentals for his age. He came through at 5080 126, so there's plenty of growth and development to take place here, and he ran 5.02x40, 4.62 pro shuttle, 8'7 broad jump, solid numbers for a young developing athlete. Butler was quick with his feet, smooth in his transition, disciplined with his head and eyes, and highly competitive. Looking forward to watching his development.

[player_tooltip player_id='2177003' first='Joseph' last='King, Jr.'] | East Saint Louis | 2027

King measured in at 5100 149, tested at 4.75x40 and 8'10 broad jump. King was a little more technically raw than some of his teammates but displayed some natural athletic ability and football wherewithal. He was particularly good in the downhill drill against the tailbacks. Attacked with good aggressiveness and open field instincts. Showed high point ability during the one on one coverage portion. Look for King to continue to compete for looks through this camp season.

The only DB not from the St. Louis area that had a day was the other Oliver from Carbondale. The younger of the Olivers measured in at 5080 147 and ran 4.65x40, 4.59 pro shuttle, 9'7 broad jump. His quickness was certainly better than the shuttle number posted and his was very competitive in one on ones. In a jump ball situation, Oliver consistently attacked the ball in the air displaying notable high point ability. The two-sport rising junior recorded a 11.22 100m time this spring and is competitive in long jump and triple jump.

[player_tooltip player_id='214234' first='Jayden' last='Ellington'] | East Saint Louis | 2027

Ellington is a high cut looking athlete that put up the best collection of testing numbers amongst the DB group. At 5093 171, Ellington posted at 4.60x40, 4.26 pro shuttle and 9'5 broad jump. Smooth in his drop, showed quickness and suddenness in his transition, reactive twitch in the open field and one on ones. The rising senior has some Division I options heading into the meat of camp season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1562266' first='Earnest' last='Winters'] | Cahokia | 2029

Prior to this event, the Class of 2029 Illinois rankings were being prepped for release, where Winters was inevitably positioned as the #1 safety in the state, and he did everything to back that up over the course of the afternoon. On the hoof, he is long, high cut and tightly wound, measured in at 6010 187, tested 4.90x40, 4.66 pro shuttle, 9'1 broad jump. Throughout the course of drills, none of those numbers were indicative of how this young athlete moved. Steps were taken with juice and power, and he transitioned with plenty of burst and hip fluidity. In one on ones, he had the range and reactionary athleticism to blanket anyone he covered. Still growing and developing, the ceiling is massive.
