It's turned out that way, however. The previous installments have been linked above.   It'd been a minute since I checked on the recruitments of prospects in Iowa's 2027 Class. It was time to update their processes.   Here's a closer look at five talented guys still searching for college homes:   [player_tooltip player_id='1699707' first='Jack' last='Birt'], OL/DL, St. Albert   Announced offers: Grand View.   The Situation: Colleges began checking in with Birt following his sophomore season of 2024. He camped with Iowa, Kansas State and Nebraska last summer, when he also performed at the Lindenwood Mega Camp. He visited Iowa State for a game in November. The recruiting process has remained active since the first of the year.   St. Thomas, Augustana, Wisconsin-River Falls, Bemidji State, Morningside, Upper Iowa, Wayne State and Drake all played host to Birt on a visit since the calendar flipped to 2026. Northern Iowa visited him at St. Albert earlier this month, and Grand View became Birt's first offer when the in-state school did so on May 16.   Kansas State, South Dakota State and other programs are extending camp invites for the next month or so. Birt (6-2, 275) could improve his stock with strong performances at these events.   Birt flashes current production with an exciting amount of room for growth during his <a href="https://www.hudl.com/video/3/19665468/690516e0463a680a36e714a9" id="https://www.hudl.com/video/3/19665468/690516e0463a680a36e714a9">junior highlight video</a>. He's a guy that can help plenty of programs out there.   [player_tooltip player_id='1617528' first='Brady' last='Hagan'], DL/OL, Dowling Catholic   Announced offers: Sioux Falls.   The Situation: Hagan popped on my radar when I saw him starting on the Dowling offensive line as a sophomore in 2024. When I caught up with the Maroons again last fall, he was impacting the game on the defensive front.   Hagan is a good athlete in addition to being a versatile football player. When you couple that with what he displays during his <a href="https://www.hudl.com/video/3/19659088/6985564c81088eed3fdd689d" id="https://www.hudl.com/video/3/19659088/6985564c81088eed3fdd689d">junior highlight video</a>, there's good reason colleges are taking notice.   Wyoming played host to Hagan for a visit in early October, when it snowed. North Dakota State dropped by Dowling in January and then returned to see him last week. Northern Iowa visited him at school in January, and Wyoming was by earlier this month. Sioux Falls came through with an offer on May 13.   [player_tooltip player_id='2085662' first='Kash' last='Huisman'], ATH, Unity Christian   Announced offers: None.   The Situation: Talk about a guy being overlooked in relation to potential, Huisman is a prospect with a whole lot of upside, as we can see when viewing his <a href="https://www.hudl.com/video/3/20083595/690d04ff870e2f0be6417184" id="https://www.hudl.com/video/3/20083595/690d04ff870e2f0be6417184">junior highlight video</a>. He has a projectable frame capable of filling out without the loss of the athleticism that allows him to also compete in basketball and track.   Northwestern College offered him an opportunity to play college football back in February, but the activity in his recruitment is behind where it should be. South Dakota and Augustana did invited him to junior days.   Huisman would do well getting out to college camps during the next month or so. He could really raise his stock working out in front of staffs at the next level.   [player_tooltip player_id='2088789' first='Isaac' last='Brownlee'], DB/WR, Clear Lake   Announced offers: Penn, Cornell.   The Situation: Brownlee's recruitment has been simmering throughout the last year. He showed the ability during his<a href="https://www.hudl.com/video/3/19498648/691258752e5cb6150ef0bddd" id="https://www.hudl.com/video/3/19498648/691258752e5cb6150ef0bddd"> junior highlight video</a> for it to rise to a boil. The performance earned him first-team all-state laurels at defensive back.   Colleges have been evaluating the 6-foot-1, 185-pounder with a projectable frame. Brownlee visited Drake and Penn for games last fall. North Dakota State visited him at Clear Lake in January, and he visited Drake on Feb. 1. He competed in a Rivals camp in Houston on March 9, when he posted a Top 5 shuttle time, and took part in an Under Armour Next camp earlier this month.   Penn and Cornell extended college football opportunities to Brownlee in March. He scheduled summer camps at Kansas State, Minnesota, Northern Illinois, Iowa State, Missouri State and Penn.   [player_tooltip player_id='1940789' first='Colton' last='Hoben'], WR/DB, Grand View Christian   Announced offers: None.   The Situation: Another student-athlete being under-recruited relative to talent and potential, Hoben shares similar traits with his older brother, Brayden Hoben, a second-year tight end at South Dakota State. Colton is a multi-sport athlete with a high ceiling in football once he focuses his attention on that one sport and enters a college strength program with his 6-2, 180-pound frame.   North Dakota, South Dakota and South Dakota State visited [player_tooltip player_id='1940789' first='Colton' last='Hoben'] at Grand View Christian during the January live period. For some reason, his recruitment has not been active during this spring and summer.   Hoben could help himself by camping with colleges during the next month or so.
