Buzz Generators: Ohio Prospects Picking Up Steam

Some prospects in the Buckeye State have been flying under-the-radar for many months, but that has changed this week as many of them have landed offers; for some of them, these offers are their first. Some of these prospects are likely to generate even more recruiting attention as college camp season rolls around. Here are four prospects to know as we progress through May.    [player_tooltip player_id='2207889' first='James' last='Krebs'] is a starting offensive tackle for St. Francis De Sales High School. The class of 2028 recruit has a quick first step. He is a good puller in the run game, flashing ability to block and drive defenders off the ball at the second level. He runs his feet on contact and is a good finisher. He can also stay square to rushers in pass protection. Earned an early offer from Ohio; expect more to come his way.     [player_tooltip player_id='2207905' first='Carson' last='Adkins'] is a physical, tough, and heavy-hitting offensive lineman for Licking Valley. The 6-foot-6, 290-pound offensive tackle can use his size and foot speed to take defenders for a ride to the sideline. He has a prototypical frame with some room to add more bulk. He picked up his first two offers from Wisconsin and Penn State this month. Expect him to develop into one of the top prospects in the Midwest.     Nothing is particularly flashy about Toledo Whitmer tailback [player_tooltip player_id='1676132' first='Jamon' last='Holmes'], who added his 13th Division I offer from Youngstown State. Holmes is a north-and-south, between-the-tackles runner who has good speed for his 210-pound frame. Holmes is a very tough runner through contact, maintains good balance in space and gets plenty of yards after contact. Self-describing himself as a chain mover, he will be a valuable fit to whichever college team lands him.     [player_tooltip player_id='949479' first='Brayden' last='Bryant'] picked up his 9th offer from James Madison, his first in quite some time. Bryant is a two-way prospect on offense as a receiver and defense as a corner. At both positions, he displays ability to high-point the ball, snatch it out of the air with his hands and great body adjustment. I like him more on defense where his 6-foot-1, 195-pound frame can be used in coverage.
