Wide Receiver Wednesday- 2027s Catching Our Eye

Welcome back!   It's Wide Receiver Wednesday!   This week, we're focusing on some talented pass catchers we think will have huge years in 2026.   These guys have already made impacts for their teams offensively, so be sure to take a look at their film below! You don't want to miss this kind of talent!    [player_tooltip player_id='1852717' first='Cam' last='Ballinger'] is a talented WR for A.P. Brewer who's made a ton of huge plays out wide over the last two seasons.   At 6'4 180, Ballinger has the size, speed, and hands to dominate secondaries out wide. He's great at using his size to his advantage. He does a great job climbing the ladder and high-pointing the ball for huge catches over the tops of defenders.   I'm most impressed with Ballinger's athleticism. He moves really well at his size and can effortlessly change his direction and evade defenders in the open field. There's a ton to like with Ballinger's game; he's a complete WR with a huge year ahead."   Ballinger had a huge season this past fall. I was really impressed with his junior tape and think he has another big year ahead of him in 2026. If you haven't watched him before, make sure you take a look at his film below.      [player_tooltip player_id='1658850' first='Josiah' last='Edwards'] is a talented WR from Bob Jones who's coming off a breakout season this past fall.   "Edwards is an athletic WR who can attack and make plays at multiple levels of the field. Edwards is quick, plays with great speed, and consistently gains tons of separation underneath and downfield.   When he's open, Edwards has a reliable set of hands and crafty moves after the catch that he uses to maximize every opportunity with the ball. I'm really impressed with how well-rounded he is, and think he has a big junior season ahead this fall."   Edwards is an explosive weapon outside who found the endzone a ton this past season. I'm excited to see what he can do this fall, especially with an increased workload. I think he has a huge year ahead. In the meantime, make sure you watch some of his film below:      DeArian "Juice" Riley is a dominant threat outside who's found a ton of success at Sylacuga the last two seasons.   "Riley is incredibly athletic. At 6'2 185, he possesses a ton of speed and elusiveness. He's a monster after the catch, if he hits the open field- good luck stopping him. He can completely separate from opposing defenses with how well he accelerates and moves with the ball in his hands.   I love watching Riley attack the ball. He does a great job using his size and hands to fight off DBs and bring it in. I'm really impressed with how he can make plays through contact- he's a strong wideout who doesn't shy away from big hits. You can see it on tape, he'll do whatever it takes to come down with the ball. It's awesome to watch."   Riley was unstoppable this past year and has been picking up significant collegiate interest as a result. I'm excited to see what he'll do this upcoming fall. I think he has a massive senior season ahead of him.      [player_tooltip player_id='1654951' first='Tristan' last='Darden'] is a talented WR from Pelham who's set up for a massive comeback season this upcoming fall.   "At 6'1 170, Darden has the size and speed to be a huge threat outside. He's quick on his feet, can run a variety of routes really well, and has the eyes and hands to track and haul in receptions all over the field. Darden can also do a lot after the catch- he's fast, can make defenders miss, and works to grind out every possible yard each reception.   Darden is also a physical blocker who can open up huge opportunities downfield for his teammates- he's strong, plays with good leverage, and can pancake DBs if needed, leading to huge plays on the ground."   Darden unfortunately missed much of last year due to injury. I still am really high on him and his skill set, and think he's going to have an awesome return this upcoming fall. Don't sleep on this kid, and make sure you take a look at some of his sophomore film below:      [player_tooltip player_id='2065140' first='Christian' last='Pritchard'] is a talented WR from Muscle Shoals who had a breakout season out wide last fall.   "Prithchard is a versatile player who thrives off his speed, hands, and ball skills. He's great at finding separation, can quickly get open downfield, and is excellent at using his hands to attack and bring in the ball through coverage and contact.   Pritchard has some great skills after the catch. He's quick, elusive, and can easily change his direction in the open field, successfully evading defenders and turning upfield for huge plays.   Pritchard was a breakout star of last season. He helped Muscle Shoals' passing game tremendously, and frequently found the endzone/made game-changing plays. I'm excited for his senior year, I think he has a big season ahead.
