TN2028 Watch List: Interior Off. Linemen

<!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Looking through our rising junior class, we have several big men on the offensive line that have already gained offers and started to see their stocks take-off but others haven't. These interior O-linemen below show tools and traits that warrant college interest and I think in time, they will see interest pick up as well as land several offers. </h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>(Plenty more offensive linemen will jump on our radar over the coming months and year but right now, these are the guys we have either scouted, seen in person or know about going into summer camp season)</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>(OL) [player_tooltip player_id='1704252' first='Landon' last='Plunk'] - Bartlett</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>- Plunk gained good experience last year as a sophomore but will be looked upon to play a bigger role this Fall as one of the Panthers top O-linemen. This Memphis area product is a broad shouldered, wide framed mauler that has the college look and size along with the power to move people off the line of scrimmage. Plunk does have development to go, especially with his athleticism, agility and bend. Now the Panthers big man isn't a bad athlete but he certainly has room for growth in that department. Looking at his film, you will see Plunk handle duties at tackle but for college, I like his game best on the interior as a mauling offensive guard. Depending on how he develops and performs this Fall, I could see Plunk forming into a “Top 10” worthy interior O-lineman for our in-state junior class.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>- - - - -&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>(OL) [player_tooltip player_id='1704636' first='Jake' last='Meinhardt'] - MBA</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>- Yet to land his first college offer, Meinhardt is a name to keep track of over the next year as I expect his stock to rise and become one of the top interior O-line prospects coming out of our in-state junior class. That's a big statement to make but I believe this Nashville native has it in him to form into a top level interior performer with continued development. One thing Meinhardt must work on moving forward to become a top guy is his athleticism and explosion off the line. He does a good job of getting out of his stance and driving his man off the ball in the run game but must develop that lower half explosion to be considered one of the top guard prospects in the state. This Nashville area interior O-lineman has the upside to develop into one of the better center prospects from the TN2028 class but continued work must be done. Langley is a good athlete that moves his feet well while staying active and squared up on his opponent, however he has a lot of room to grow with his body and overall frame. This guy is a worker though that stays in the weight room, so the work ethic is there. Gaining more size would allow Langley to anchor better and drive his man off the ball further. I do like the potential here and his opportunity to become a top center prospect that also provides interior versatility.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>- - - - -&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>(OL) [player_tooltip player_id='2049733' first='Lucas' last='Bello'] - Stewarts Creek</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>- Starting last year at center as a sophomore, Bello is a name to know going into summer camps and the Fall football season as someone that could take a major jump and position himself as one of the top center prospects from the TN2028 class. Sporting solid size (6'3 275) along with interior versatility, the Red Hawks junior big man does well at getting out his stance and forcing his hands into his opponent then driving him back. Bello shows an agile lower half and quick feet as well as room to get bigger. I still think this Rutherford County lineman has plenty of room for growth but I like the building blocks to potentially work his way into a D1 caliber center prospect. Watching how he progresses this coming season will be very interesting to watch because Bello has upside and a lot to like about his game.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>- - - - -&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>(OL) [player_tooltip player_id='1599119' first='Eli' last='Coles'] - Ensworth</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>- This Nashville area prospect is more of a long term option when it comes to the college game as I see good potential with Coles and the possibility of handling all three interior O-line positions. The Tigers rising junior brings a powerful lower base to the field along with strong hands and deceptive athleticism. You can see a technician here inside Coles film along with somebody that might have a future in college at center. There is plenty of growth yet to go with this guy, especially with his agility and explosion coming out of his stance. Coles also has room to grow with his frame as well. What I like about the Hawks big man is his quickness off the snap, his powerful upper body and tenacity you can see throughout his sophomore highlights. Carlin is still growing into his body as well, so you may see a bigger, more filled out version of this big man coming in the Fall. This is a versatile performer as well. He is athletic enough to handle some tackle when called upon but I like his potential best on the interior where can be a physical, mauling offensive guard. Potential is there for Carlin to be a “Top 20” ranked O-lineman for his class that might start seeing the offers come through in the next few months.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>- - - - -&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>(OL) [player_tooltip player_id='1588842' first='Grant' last='Vinson'] - Baylor</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>- Transferring this off-season to Baylor, this 6 '5 mauling big man will have a shot to develop much further with the Red Raiders while also boosting his stock towards a potential D1 prospect. Vinson is a wide based blocker that eats up space and uses his power to drive his man back. This guy is a physical competitor that displays some grit, some tenacity in his clips that I think could work well on the interior at offensive guard. Vinson played tackle during his time at Cookeville but I think he will move inside at Baylor and try to work his way into becoming a strong offensive guard prospect that warrants more looks. Vinson has yet to see his recruitment take-off but I think with good teaching at Baylor and further development, he has the potential to see his stock rise significantly.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>- - - - -&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>(OL) [player_tooltip player_id='1088653' first='Hunter' last='Winstead'] - McKenzie</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>- A multi-year starter for one of the best programs on the 1A level, Winstead is an under the radar, small school talent that shows potential on film and abilities that might force D1, FCS college staffs to pay attention much harder. The Rebels rising junior comes off the ball well, showing good athleticism and explosion along with a powerful upper body. Winstead is a feisty, tenacious guy that plays a physical brand of football that should entice collegiate coaches. He also handles tackle for his team, which speaks towards his athleticism but I think his upside fits best inside at offensive guard. One area where Winstead can improve his footwork. He can get quicker in that area and doing so would enhance his pass pro. Just recently, Hamdulla released his junior film, so he is pretty much brand new to the scouting game but looking things over, I see a big bodied mauler that eats up space and physically manhandles his opponent. While the Rockets junior has the physical prowess wanted, Hamdulla does need development with his athleticism and lower base agility. His foot speed can be increased as well. I do like the potential here with Hamdulla, especially inside at guard where I think his physicality and size can shine as well as put him on the radar as a legit college prospect.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>- - - - -&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>(OL) [player_tooltip player_id='1037300' first='Asher' last='Noe'] - Concord Christian</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>- Noe may turn out to be one of the bigger hidden gems coming from our TN2028 O-line class, especially if he continues to develop and gain the weight needed to contend on the big stage of college football. What you see about Noe when flipping on his film is an athletic guy that moves his feet well while displaying nice balance and bend. The Lions junior big man handles center for his team and that looks to be his future in college. Noe comes off the snap well and gets his hands up and into his opponent quickly. He is lacking girth right now and will need more weight to sustain himself physically on the next level but Noe has a good frame to pack on more size and be quite serviceable snapping the ball.
