Spring Practice Report: Warren Central (Pt. 2)

Yesterday, we visited Warren Central High School in Indianapolis, where the Warriors kicked off spring ball. Fox is an elite BCS-level talent. While it isn't surprising to see his trajectory rise, it is surprising to see how much he has grown in the weight room, putting a lot of lean muscle on what used to be a long and lanky frame, without losing much speed. Fox was remarkable yesterday at spring practice, especially in coverage in 1-on-1s v. RBs; he can cover and carry, times the ball well for breakups/INTs, and is a very athletic mover in space. Against the run and as a pass rusher, he is elite. Although he lacks the size to be an upper-tier Division I recruit, he possesses great closing speed, tremendous range and is very instinctive. Ballard is quick to read-and-react. When he comes down to play in the box he is a very good tackler and who takes great angles to the ball. Multiple Power 4 offers; strong junior season landed him on radars. Great vision and patience to follow blocks. More of a straight-line runner; not much change-of-direction. A legitimate dual-threat tailback who displays soft hands when used in the passing game. Physically tough and strong tailback who can be hard to bring down, runs through contact, maintains great balance and stays on his feet. Can push a pile, tough around the goal line. Walker has great first-step quickness, flashes twitch, plays at a low pad level and can be very disruptive. Takes great angles to the QB as a rusher, flashes being able to set a vertical edge, shed, disengage off blocks and plays with good bend. Key to his recruiting will be how much he grows over the next two seasons. Coach loves his work ethic, buys into the weight room.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
