The Next Gen 12U team came into the AC SportzFarm weekend with some studs studs at key positions, but it ultimately wasn't enough to pick up a W in the opening round. The talent they had battled hard with the Tri-State Chargers; But ultimately, it wasn't enough. Nonetheless, the prospects below caught my eyewhen looking at this squad.

While it wasn't the team's best showing overall, there's no denying the talent that [player_tooltip player_id='2098507' first='Jorden' last='Orro'] has coming out of the backfield. On the short list of top 2031 Running Backs in New Jersey at this point, he picked up right where he left off from when I last saw him at our Prep Redzone Next New Jersey Middle School Camp in late January. Gamebreaking speed and unassuming power make him a prospect that people around New Jersey need to get to know EARLY.

Off the top of my head, this tournament was the first time I've seen [player_tooltip player_id='2164301' first='Camari' last='Covington'] play in person. Offensively, he shared the backfield with [player_tooltip player_id='2098507' first='Jorden' last='Orro'] and the pair formed a lucrative 1-2 punch. He hit the whole decisively and got North-and-South very quickly. Even more impressive was his play on the defensive side of the ball. As a Linebacker he swarmed to the ball quickly and was in, or around, the ball on a ton of plays.

Getting eyes on a prospect like [player_tooltip player_id='2164316' first='Jaleel' last='Abdullah'] is why it's important to get out to events and check kids out in person. He's a brand new name to me and to be honest, I don't know much else about him, outside of what I saw today. He started at Right Tackle on offense and was an Edge on defense. He has a great frame and body type to develop as he continues to get older. Checks the box in terms of mobility, strength and flexibility at this point too.

The 2025 season saw many members of the Hamilton Rouge One team accomplish some very special things. A prospect off that team that stood out for the Next Gen 12U team here at SportzFarm All-Star Weekend was [player_tooltip player_id='2164330' first='Justin' last='Nesby']. Nesby is a thick kid with some obvious power. His future is certainly as a Defensive Lineman with his combination of raw power and quick feet, but he proved to be athletic enough to line up in the backfield as a lead blocker several times. With [player_tooltip player_id='2098507' first='Jorden' last='Orro'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2164301' first='Camari' last='Covington'] as clear playmakers, Nesby did a good job clearing lanes for them.

Eye-Catchers

Marcus Wilson | Next Gen 12U #11 | 2031 - Long, lean Wide Receiver and Free Safety. Definitely on the thin side right now, but passes the eye test. Ball skills were clearly a notch above.

[player_tooltip player_id='2164385' first='Preston' last='Lopez'] | Next Gen 12U #18 | 2032 - Scary to think that Lopez has at least two more seasons of pre-high school ball left. Advanced size and ability for a prospect so young.

Quincy Hayes | Next Gen 12U #4 | 2031 - One of the better weapons on the outside, he was very quick in space when he had the ball in his hands. Good close proximity quickness.

[player_tooltip player_id='2164400' first='Andre' last='Gentry'] | Next Gen 12U #1 | 2031 - Another Wide Receiver that looked the part on this team, physically. A lot of speed, ball skills and vision. Skill set lends itself to multiple positions on both sides of the ball.

[player_tooltip player_id='1892130' first='Drew' last='Ellis'] | Next Gen 12U #7 | 2031 - The 12U Jersey Shore AYF All-Star selection from this past season didn't have this best day, but his skill set is still something to work with. Last saw him in January at our Prep Redzone Next New Jersey Middle School Camp.

[player_tooltip player_id='2164423' first='Nasir' last='Smith'] | Next Gen 12U #3 | 2031 - By no means is he anywhere near a finished product, by [player_tooltip player_id='2164423' first='Nasir' last='Smith'] is a prospect that has some ability. He physically looks the part and brings dual-threat ability.
