It dawned on me about a third of the way through the tryout that I had seen Lopez play this past spring at the SportzFarm Tournament in Atlantic City. He was a standout then as a sixth-grader and was even more dominant this past weekend as a seventh-grader. Violent and fast off the snap, he was a lot to handle. Despite being age eligible for the 12u All-Star Team, he plays up on the Hamilton Rogue 14U team during the regular season and it’s easy to see why. He shoots his hands very quickly and is into the O-Linemen’s chest before they get their first step. Played with leverage and technique all morning. He should be a difference maker on the interior Defensive Line.
