His first step is explosive, but his second step is powerful, so much so that he can be seen driving defenders down the field. When pulling or releasing on screens, his athleticism is on full display. His quick feet and ability to change direction make him an effective blocker in space as well. He showed that he can gut defenses for long touchdown runs from the backfield, take the top off of a secondary when flexed out at receiver, or create electric kick returns on special teams. In the backfield, he is a physical runner between the tackles who can stick his foot in the ground to cut back across the defense into daylight. At receiver, his speed helps him run by DBs on deep shots, but he can also go up and make contested catches in coverage. He is a powerful runner who will run through arm tackles and create yards after contact, but also can make defenders miss in space without disrupting his stride. This also makes him an effective runner on the perimeter as well, as he has the speed to outrun defenders to the edge and account for explosive runs on the outside. He is versatile in the secondary, as he can play as the 1 high safety in the middle of the field or roll down to play more of a force player at nickel. At nickel, he showed that he is a physical tackler who can rush the passer off the edge, set the edge to force outside runs back inside, or fit the run in the box. He is an aggressive defender who tackles well in space. His quick feet and fluid hips allow him to excel in both zone and man coverage. He explodes out of breaks, which helps him jump underneath routes.
