PRZ Hoosier State Hustle 14U: 10 Saturday Top Performers

Day 1 of Hoosier State Hustle wrapped up in Noblesville this evening, and there were a number of major standouts throughout the event. Below are 10 performers than balled out during pool play.    Max had a really impressive day, on both sides of the ball. Defensively, I took note early of his ability to backpedal smoothly, flip his hips and run with the receiver. When the ball came his way, he used his ball skills to go up and contest everything. Those same skills translated to the offensive side of the ball as well. On top of being a downfield target for the big shot, he was able to take some short and intermediate routes and rack up some YAC with some special speed. Great overall day 1, with plenty more to come on Championship Sunday!     Aris was impressive early and often. His arm is massive and his throwing motion is effortless. Right from the beginning, he was putting throws on the money downfield. He was extremely aggressive, showing just how confident he was in being able to put the ball where it needed to be. Nothing downfield was off limits. This mixed with his physical stature and processing ability made him one of the standout performers of the day without question.     Really impressive day for one of our great Canadian athletes! A 2-way stud for his MVP squad, Hunter was extremely productive and was able to impact the game in a variety of ways. Offensively, he was everywhere. He displayed reliable hands, especially downfield. He had a nice toe tap TD, along with some other explosive plays. He was also able to take short passes and turn them into chunk plays with speed and vision. Defensively he was able to play sideline to sideline and even came away with a very important PBU in a close game. Super excited to watch him work again on Sunday!    <figure class="wp-block-image"><img /></figure>    Jaxon had a great all around day, but defensively is where he shined the brightest. He played an incredibly physical brand of football, and it was a blast to watch. He jammed off the line and disrupted the route right from the jump. Once the receiver was into his route, Horner was able to stay lock step with his wideouts and make it impossible to create separation. Even when it seemed that they had some space, Jaxon was able to close that distance instantly with superb closing speed. Easily one of the most impressive defensive performances of Saturday's play.    <figure class="wp-block-image"><img /></figure>    There weren't many catches better than the one Jaxson had on Saturday. Throughout the game, I had noted Berber's effort and attention to detail. He was running clean and smooth routes, and was able to win some separation against some good defenders. One pass in particular, the ball was underthrown, and Berber was able to go down and adjust to the ball to make a very difficult catch. This solidified his spot in this article, and he will have my attention on Sunday.     This was a player that stood out from the moment he stepped on the field. His route running was different from everyone else. He was able to change direction so effortlessly and win separation on any route. It seemed like every time his team needed a big play, he was the one making it. From drag routes to deep balls, there was nobody that was able to completely neutralize him. Roderick was one of the twitchiest athletes on the property on Saturday, and was a true catalyst for his teams success.     It was no surprise that Marje was a top performer on Saturday. He passes the eye test with a solid, athletic frame, and what he was able to do largely matched up with what I wanted to see. He moves well, cuts sharp and is able to cover a ton of ground with his long strides. He had a couple of tough catches where guys were draped all over him because they couldn't guard him any other way. I won't be surprised at all to see him be a major problem for teams during bracket play on Sunday.    <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepredzone.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/3/2026/04/DSC0967.jpeg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-2169925" /></figure>    Really good day for Hamoodi, who was an irreplaceable piece on this team. Both offensively and defensively, he was impacting the game. On offense, his release is nice, and makes it extremely difficult for defenders to get their hands on him. His cuts are abrupt and when the ball comes his way, he showed sure hands. On the defensive side of the ball, he showed off some burners as his closing speed was some of the best on the day. Offenses had very tight windows to throw into when he was around, thanks to his elite change of direction and instincts. A standout performer with plenty of upside going forward.     Francesco was another wideout that I saw pass the eye test today. At 6'3 and with his athletic but physical build, he becomes a top target immediately. He ran smooth routes without tipping them off before he cut. His hands were reliable, and his ability to create separation gave him a lot of space to work with. With the size and raw ability I saw on Saturday, Heth showed that he has a ton to offer, and possesses a high ceiling.     Blake was a lean and lanky wideout who caused a lot of problems for opposing defenses. His release was quick, and he was able to explode out of his cuts and win separation. He was a red zone and 3rd down target thanks to his size and ability to go up and high point the football. Short routes or deep posts and go balls were all the same to Blake, has his effort and precision never wavered. He was a consistent source of yards for his team and was able to find the end zone on a number of occasions.
