One of my guiltiest pleasures when ranking prospects for Prep Redzone New Jersey is picking-and-choosing to highlight prospects that I thought had outstanding film. As part of our class of 2027 player rankings update, I get to highlight those prospects who put on a show with their highlight reels. Below are a handful of prospects who have film that left an impression on me.

[player_tooltip player_id='1671678' first='Josiah' last='Chaplain'] is the type of back that I wish I could see in a spread offense. Despite how slight he is, Chaplain is a tough running offset/wing back in a Wing-T offense. What entices me about his game is that unlike many other Wing-T backs, he is not as much a straight-line runner as most are. Tape shows us that the Boonton product can create for himself at moments, while also picking up his feet enough to blow past low ankle tackles. Blessed with a burst of speed, Chaplain appears violent when he runs, likely due to dramatization of his sudden movements. At the next level I can see Chaplain playing the role of a scat back since he runs like a video game player in the open field.

A two-way prospect who I can say fairly confidently can play either side of the ball at the next level is [player_tooltip player_id='1105271' first='Jonathan' last='Davis']. As a running back for Ramsey, Davis uses his hand to catch the ball and has showcased straight line speed. Defensively he is a linebacker that reads his keys and gets to his run fit. As a running back he keeps his feet moving well, tacking on cheap-and-easy yardage in the process - all the while possessing the ability to spin off of leverage to break tackles. Additionally, Davis has shown that he can gain the sideline and has powerful legs.

If a team was built, on both sides of the ball, around one player, it would the the Hilltoppers' [player_tooltip player_id='1476957' first='Matt' last='McKeever']. Yes, he does play quarterback in a run-centric offense, but he is also an outstanding linebacker - which is where I suspect his collegiate prospects as a football player are. McKeever has good closing speed, thus making him hard to beat to the sideline. As a tackler, he wraps and pumps his feet very well. In coverage we see him eye, and respond, to the quarterback as they open up their shoulders or move. That said, McKeever is patient until the opposing quarterback tips where he is going, he will get to his drop and settle. Offensively, I really like McKeever's approach as a run-focused quarterback. McKeever is willing to lower his shoulder in short yardage to get what the team needs to succeed, while also being willing to absorb - and successfully withstand - a shot while keep going. When he is called to drop back and pass and under duress, McKeever keeps his eyes downfield, specifically at the sticks, to put his team in position to continue their drive.

A rolled down safety, [player_tooltip player_id='1801137' first='Rahmar' last='Chambers'] of Bayonne is an outstanding tackler. Chambers tracks the near hip very well and comes to balance even better, while it also appears that he also has some recovery speed to boot. As such, Chambers plays down near the line of scrimmage often. He is very astute as to how to leverage tackle and where his tackling leverage, as well as help, is. A competitor, any ball that is up for grabs we see him contest and fight for. A solid high school player, Chambers gets hands on receivers within 5-yards of scrimmage and interrupts their routes/timing.
