Four Backs That Can Scoot + An ATH Who Skates and Creates

<p>One of my guiltiest pleasures when ranking prospects for Prep Redzone New Jersey is picking-and-choosing to highlight prospects that I thought had outstanding film. As part of our class of 2027 player rankings update, I get to highlight those prospects who put on a show with their highlight reels. Below are a handful of prospects who have film that left an impression on me.</p>   <p>Be sure to follow me on <a href="https://x.com/BrendanScoutsNJ">Twitter</a> for the latest New Jersey high school football prospect news and not miss a beat!</p>   <hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity" />   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Morristown's Elms is only <em>listed </em>as a Quarterback on your program</h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">If you are looking for an athletic player who can pace a team at quarterback, [player_tooltip player_id='2044277' first='Weston' last='Elms'] is your guy. While keeping his eyes downfield, Elms evades the rush with the nimbleness of a ballerina. Should he have to duck and run, he has a strong understanding on how to set up his angles to make him a difficult pursuit for defenders. With the ability to make a defender miss, he has also shown balance along the sideline. With a bit of a gunslinger mentality, Elms trusts his speedy receivers by throwing up a bomb for them to run under it to make a play. A bit unorthodox, but as a quarterback Elms is asked to play corner as well. Defensively he shows that he is a solid form-fitting tackler. Lastly, he matches a receiver's hands when covering deep.</p>    <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Wait and see what Gebhard does for Delsea</h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">Much like Elms discussed before him, despite being a quarterback (in a Wing-T offense), [player_tooltip player_id='1971874' first='Milo' last='Gebhard'] is a runner. With clean footwork and key reads for the Wing-T with a quarterback option element to it, Gebhard can gain the sideline and turn upfield quickly. Although he follows his track, once he breaks through into the second level you can expect Gebhard to head toward green grass and find space to operate. The 2027 graduate is a good, hard running player who moves quick and can absolutely book it. Gebhard also has me wondering just exactly how strong his legs are, as his speed, agility, and ability to move a pile lead me to believe. Lastly, there is something about his film that simply looks like poetry and motion. </p>    <h2 class="wp-block-heading">The Embodiment of a P-Burg Stateliner</h2>    <p>Shane More is the embodiment a hard-nose, physical runner that has been the penchant for Stateliners' football since time immoral. As a wishbone back, Moore looks for the ball quickly and uses his hands to catch it when he is released into the flat - even showing the ability to adjust to the ball if it is thrown behind him. Along with his power that requires you to stick your full body on him when tackling, Moore has a surprising amount of balance for a bigger back and is difficult to trip up who runs hard. Lastly, he takes pride in his pass protection. In what I thought was his most impressive clip, he absolutely sticks his face into, and subsequently stonewalls, a Tennessee-bound edge rusher.</p>    <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Belenko is a Shore Thing for the Shore's Middletown North</h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">Middletown North, another program with strong heritage, is the home of [player_tooltip player_id='2044245' first='Matthew' last='Belenko']. Belenko does an outstanding job of following his blockers, while also making subtle-enough cuts to make defenders miss in the second- and third levels. Generally a back who follows is track, Belenko relies on his speed to win - as many of his clips show him running untouched.
