DORCHESTER | When the award winners were handed out during the three sessions of the Carolina Coaches Combine at Woodland HS on March 29, we were not surprised when several kids from Class A programs walked away with some of the hardware.

It started in Session I (Class of 2027) when Cross running back [player_tooltip player_id='1172364' first='Mah'ky' last='Green'] (pictured above) earned the Top Offensive Combo award thanks to an overall great showing. Green checked in at just over 5-foot-8 and a solid 170.1 pounds. He went out and dazzled with a splendid overall performance in the measurables as well as the individual work.

That was complimented by the Top MPH award that wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='1822708' first='Skylar' last='Montgomery'] from Johnsonville earned with a speed of 20.9 MPH in less-than-ideal conditions. Montgomery was 4.62 in the 40-yard dash and 4.63 in the pro shuttle with a broad jump of 116 inches that really showed his explosiveness.

Carvers Bay came away with two award winners when [player_tooltip player_id='1822691' first='Triston' last='Diggs'] won the top OL performer as part of Session II (Class of 2027) and RB [player_tooltip player_id='1820184' first='Dominique' last='Walker'] won the Leadership award. Diggs had 35 reps on the bench press.

Wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='1821843' first='Judah' last='Lee'] of Green Sea Floyds had the fastest 40-yard dash in Session II by clocking in at 4.44. Lee was also 4.48 in the pro shuttle with a broad jump of 114 inches and a vertical of 26.5.

Then in Session III (Underclassmen), Denmark-Olar linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='1824848' first='Nyheem' last='Brimfield'] also earned the Leadership Award for being one of the most vocal players of the afternoon event.

But those were not the only standouts from the smallest SCHSL classification. Several guys made a name for themselves across all three sessions. We have already mentioned several Class A standouts in previous articles but here is a list that we felt was worth mentioning for a first time or repeating what we liked from them.

[player_tooltip player_id='1825539' first='Randy' last='McFadden'] QB, Kingstree

McFadden stood tall in the pocket and showed a good bit of zip on his passes. He was able to make all the throws consistently and got the ball out before the receiver was making his breaks.

[player_tooltip player_id='1036756' first='Jordan' last='Bovain'] WR [player_tooltip player_id='1217173' first='Rakeem' last='Walker'] DB and [player_tooltip player_id='1819949' first='Jason' last='Youmans'] DB, Bamberg-Ehrhardt

The Red Raiders won the Class A state championship a season ago and have a wealth of talent returning. Bovain showed a lot of quickness and ability to get in and out of breaks quickly. Add in his 28-inch vertical and he will be able to attack the ball at its highest point. Walker made some good adjustments once the ball was in the air during individual drills that prevented a pass from being completed. He was over 5-foot-11 with a 73-inch wingspan that helped him in coverage. Youmans also played well during the individual part of the drills and stayed locked in with his receiver more times than not.

[player_tooltip player_id='1822707' first='Zaghe' last='Davis'] RB and [player_tooltip player_id='1304767' first='Larkin' last='Powell'] QB, Johnsonville

Davis and Powell will combine with Montgomery to give the Golden Flashes three special guys at the skill positions. Davis cut well and had a 4.8 40-yard dash and a 4.57 pro shuttle. Powell threw the ball well and made good decisions while running a 4.96 40 and 4.91 pro shuttle. Plus, all three will be seniors that's played a lot of football in the Johnsonville program already.

[player_tooltip player_id='1822830' first='Logan' last='Byrd'] OL Zamarion Monroe DL and [player_tooltip player_id='1672918' first='Kayden' last='Rogers'] DB, Latta

Byrd checked in at 279.2 pounds and was able to get 20 reps on the bench press and threw the medicine ball just over 30 feet. He moved well for his size. Monroe also moved well at 225.1 pounds, and he had 18 reps on the bench. His quickness off the edge is evident. Rogers was just under 6-foot and ran a 4.83 40-yard dash with a 4.56 pro shuttle and a 111-inch broad jump. He added 10 reps on the bench press as part of the underclassmen portion of the day.

[player_tooltip player_id='1683177' first='Jaquan' last='Hannah'] DL [player_tooltip player_id='1705035' first='Jakai' last='Cohen'] DL Jayshaun Ford WR, Carvers Bay

There must be a lot of competition in the Carvers Bay weight room. We already talked about what Diggs was able to accomplish but Hannah and Cohen did their thing as well. Hannah had 20 reps and Cohen hit 17. Hannah did his work at just 207.1 pounds and sub 5 second 40-yard dash and pro shuttle to go along with a 111-inch broad jump. Ford was part of Session III for the underclassmen, and he proved he might be a problem to cover. He was 6-foot even and 181 pounds with a 79.5-inch wingspan. Add his 26.2-inch vertical to his repertoire and the Bears could be throwing a lot of jump balls in the red zone.

[player_tooltip player_id='1821778' first='Dilan' last='Hammonds'] DL, Denmark-Olar

Hammonds was a bit undersized for a defensive lineman, but he moved well and could be used as a linebacker as well as an edge rusher. He was a tad over 6-foot-3 and 205.6 pounds with a 78-inch wingspan. It was his speed and quickness that set him apart. Hammonds ran a 4.77 40-yard dash with a 4.63 shuttle and a 102-inch broad jump. He's going to be hard to stop coming off the end of the offensive line.

[player_tooltip player_id='1823003' first='Cleavon' last='Maxwell'] DL, Hampton County

Maxwell was impressive looking at 6-foot, 224.3 pounds and a 79.75-inch wingspan. His movements in the pro shuttle came off as top-notch when he changed direction quickly and sprinted through the drill. Maxwell used those attributes to perform well in the individual work as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='1822040' first='Malachi' last='Graham'] WR and [player_tooltip player_id='1824195' first='Kameryn' last='Davis'] LB, Marion

If you want to talk about a pair of teammates that might have turned heads more than most, it was Graham and Davis. Graham was on the smaller size at just over 5-foot-7 and 141.1 pounds, but he was blazing quick, and caught everything that came near him. He was able to get in and out of breaks quickly. Davis was 185.1 pounds and ran a 4.63 40-yard dash with 17 reps on the bench press, a 105-inch broad jump and a 28.3-inch vertical.
