DORCHESTER | In our last installment, we took a look at some underrated Class of 2028 standouts with the opportunity to rise in the prospect rankings following the Carolinas Coaches Combine stop at Woodland.

Some are well-known commodities with the chance to extend their influence beyond their local circle. Others are guys who have flown under the radar but are ready to show they can be key contributors as juniors.

From the rising sophomores, we were looking for all of the above - freshmen who were thrown into the fire, ones who were patiently waiting their turn for a starting spot, others who still may be searching for that opportunity.

A big opportunity presented itself at Woodland, both in the form of combine measurables and individual drills/one-on-one competition in front of coaches and scouts alike.

Here's a look at a few we think will improve their standing sooner rather than later.

[player_tooltip player_id='2106771' first='Dre'Quan' last='Goodwine'] RB, West Ashley

The 163-pounder has long arms, threw the medicine ball well and showed the ability to change directions in a hurry.

[player_tooltip player_id='1816423' first='Elijah' last='Owens'] RB, Socastee

Owens looks like he can present a lot of problems as a power back, at 213 pounds posting good numbers on the bench press, broad jump and medicine ball throw.

[player_tooltip player_id='2106780' first='Daylen' last='Ferguson'] RB, Lake Marion

Ferguson is quick at 167 pounds, running a 4.83-second 40-yard dash and showing the ability to make the big gain in both the run game and passing attack.

[player_tooltip player_id='2106756' first='Skyler' last='Cornelius'] RB, East Clarendon

Cornelius showed plenty of quickness at 157 pounds, but maybe more impressive than that were his leaping ability and explosive strength.

Javon Bessillieu DL, Andrews

Bessillieu showed room to grow into his 6-foot-tall frame, plus a strong first step and plenty of quickness with a 4.87-second 40-yard dash.

Austin Lowery DL, East Clarendon

The 5-foot-11, 208-pounder possesses a blend of speed and raw power, with long arms that can help him bat down balls but also didn't prevent him from a big showing on the bench press.

Asiel Graham LB, Bamberg-Ehrhardt

Graham has a big wing span despite standing on the 5-foot-9 side of 5-foot-8, and he showed some flashes of quickness as a runner and with his hands.

[player_tooltip player_id='1818651' first='Willie' last='Hudson'] DB, North Charleston

Hudson ran well and did a good job in strength drills, with some quick acceleration in addition to a nice vertical leap at just under 5-foot-4.

[player_tooltip player_id='1709132' first='Akari' last='Williams'] QB, Carvers Bay

Williams impressed during individual drills and then carried that right over into one-on-ones. He's got a lot of speed and shiftiness, which may trick opposing defenders into forgetting about his power.

[player_tooltip player_id='1823036' first='Jack' last='Calendine'] QB, Bluffton

Calendine is a big, young quarterback at 6-foot-4 and some change, and he did a good job of not throwing the ball in a downward motion toward his receivers.

[player_tooltip player_id='2163482' first='Jeremy' last='Kendall'] RB, Pinewood Prep

Kendall was a bit of a workout warrior at Woodland, posting some quality numbers at the combine, but he also showed how he can translate those measurables into his play under the lights.

[player_tooltip player_id='1907293' first='Darrell' last='Epps'] RB, Crestwood (pictured)

The 150-pound Epps stole the show with a 4.6-second 40-yard dash, then posted quality numbers in the vertical leap, broad jump, medicine ball throw - he showed off a good bit of the arsenal.

[player_tooltip player_id='1627639' first='Mah'kai' last='Eaddy'] WR, South Florence

Eady posted a blazing 40-yard dash time of 4.46 seconds at 148 pounds, with a good medicine ball throw and broad jump tossed in for good measure.

[player_tooltip player_id='1816698' first='Zayland' last='Johnson'] TE/H, South Aiken

South Aiken loves to get the tight end involved when its least expected, and Johnson could be the next weapon there at 6-foot-1 and 227 pounds.

Bryson Schuhmann OL, Loris

Schuhmann showed up just a touch below 6-foot-3 and weighing in at 260 pounds, had a quality set on the bench press despite his long arms and cleared a pretty good number in the broad jump.
