2026 X Film Study 1

The X Film Study series is back for its third year, continuing to highlight some of the top talent across Oregon high school football. This series is all about diving into the film, evaluating prospects, and breaking down what truly stands out beyond the stat sheet. With another year of development, new names are emerging while others continue to build on strong foundations. As always, the focus is on traits, projection, and how these players translate to the next level. The post on my X profile is above.     Lucas is one of the more polished offensive linemen in the state from a skillset standpoint, showing strong athleticism and the ability to move well in space. He played tackle at the high school level but projects inside due to limited length, where his pulling ability and second-level movement will really shine. He consistently shows good body control and strength, allowing him to be effective in both phases of the game. While his frame may limit higher-level upside, his film is as strong as almost any lineman in Oregon. Projects as a high-priority D3 recruit with the tools to make an early impact, but would not be surprised if he got love from some local D2 programs.      Wilson is a true dual-threat quarterback with elite athleticism and the ability to create explosive plays at any moment. His arm strength stands out, allowing him to push the ball downfield with ease, while his mobility makes him dangerous outside the pocket. He thrives when plays break down, turning broken situations into big gains with either his arm or legs. There is still room for growth in his consistency, decision-making, and overall polish as a passer. With continued development, he has the tools to become one of the more dynamic quarterbacks in the region.      Muldoon is an undersized interior lineman who brings solid balance and effort on both sides of the ball. He shows a consistent base and competes well in the run game, using his strength to hold his own despite a smaller frame. His athleticism is respectable, but limitations in size and length will cap his ceiling at higher levels. Still, his toughness and versatility make him an intriguing developmental option. Projects best as a D3 interior lineman who can grow into a role with continued physical development.      Matijacic flashes elite athleticism for an interior defensive lineman, showing rare speed and motor that consistently pop on film. He can disrupt plays with quickness and pursuit, making him a problem for slower interior offensive lines. While his strength is still developing, his hand usage and natural movement skills give him a strong foundation as a pass rusher. The biggest factor in his projection will be how his frame fills out over the next two years. If he can add mass without losing explosiveness, he has clear D1 upside.      Hughes is a poised and intelligent quarterback who shows a strong command of the offense, especially for a sophomore. He processes defenses well, makes sound decisions, and consistently puts his team in good positions to succeed. His mobility adds another layer to his game, allowing him to extend plays and create when things break down. As he continues to develop physically, adding more velocity and consistency to his throws will elevate his overall ceiling. With his feel for the game and steady play, he's a quarterback who will keep trending upward.
