The Prep Redzone 7v7 Circuit made a stop in Nebraska this weekend for the second annual Great Plains Gauntlet. We had teams all over the region (and Canada!) competing in La Vista, Nebraska and the competition was outstanding from start to finish. In this breakdown, we're taking a look at the 18U division with the quarterback position. These seven signal callers stood out to us throughout the weekend. They weren't the only ones, but these guys definitely caught our attention. Keep it locked in to Prep Redzone for more content to come out from this tourney!

Baylor Petrie - 2028 - Iowa Savages (IA)

For the second straight weekend, I was impressed by Iowa Savages 2028 signal caller Baylor Petrie out of Iowa. Last week, Petrie was one of the better 18U quarterbacks at our Springfield, Missouri tournament. This weekend, he brought that same level of play to Nebraska. And from a weather perspective, you're talking about two completely different settings. It was cold and windy in Nebraska after being in the 90's down in Missouri. Petrie being just a 2028 quarterback is equally impressive. There's a lot of time for growth here and he's already playing the position at a high level.

Eric Corrill - 2028 - Nebraska Select (NE)

Nebraska Select 2028 quarterback Eric Corrill was a signal caller that stood out to us during pool play on Saturday but we didn't get his name. Then he followed up a solid day one with what felt like an even better performance during bracket play on Sunday. Corrill made some really clutch throws and some throws that opened a few eyes throughout the morning and into the afternoon as they made a run in the 18U bracket. Nebraska Select was a team made up of Iowa and Nebraska standouts. Corrill is another 2028 name to keep an eye on moving forward in the spring and summer.

Jack Jaworski - 2027 - Recruit Ready (CA)

Prep Redzone 7v7 went international this week with our Nebraska and Ohio tournaments. In both events, we had teams come down from Canada. At the Great Plains Gauntlet, Canada was represented by Recruit Ready and they had a good showing. And in our opinion, it all started with the play from 2027 quarterback Jack Jaworski from Winnipeg. In the first pool play game we watched Jaworski, he was going into the strong wind and his passes were cutting through the air like it's nothing. We mentioned how he was impressive and his coaches backed that statement up.

Jake Nichols - 2028 - Strongside KC (MO)

Strongside KC had two different 18U quarterbacks stand out throughout the two days in Nebraska. The first one was 2028 signal caller Jake Nichols as he was absolutely slinging the ball all over the field. We caught some of their games in the early afternoon when the winds were really starting to pick up. It seemed like it didn't matter if they were going with or against the wind, Nichols delivered the ball to the intended target. The ball came out of his hand quickly and we walked away impressed with another 2028 quarterback that we didn't know much about but certainly do now.

Jasiah Summerfield - 2027 - Pick City Elite (NE)

2027 quarterback Jasiah Summerfield was one of the first 18U standouts that we watched on Saturday during pool play. The winds were starting to pick up but it never seemed to phase Summerfield. He moved his team up and down the field and put a lot of points on the board during pool play. The biggest attribute that Summerfield showcased was his ability to spread the ball around. It seemed like his first three or four touchdowns that we watched were to different wide receivers. His accuracy on the deep ball was also incredibly high on Saturday.

Jax Mattern - 2026 - Grind 701 (ND)

In every tournament we run on the 7v7 circuit, we'll get a handful of outgoing seniors playing with their buddies or teammates for one of the final times. Grind 701's Jax Mattern was one of those 2026 prospects that took the field this weekend. The thing that stood out to us about his game was how well he moved the ball around to his teammates. And when we were watching Grind 701, there was no doubt that they had a few playmakers that made Mattern's job a little easier. But even going against the wind on Saturday, Mattern was delivering the ball on an absolute rope.

Riley Haney - 2027 - Strongside KC (MO)

We watched Strongside KC's 2027 signal caller Riley Haney on Saturday and he was joking with his teammates that he was going to let it rip during bracket play on Sunday. That's exactly what we saw from him on the second day of the tournament. Haney came out slinging the rock and was pushing the ball downfield and it looked easy when he did so. Strongside KC had a few different quarterbacks that stood out at the various divisions. Haney was an absolute dog and not only played at a high level but he was also bringing the juice from an energy standpoint and keeping his guys engaged.
