LA City Section is loaded with talent up front. Prep Red Zone has obtained the official LA City Section Offensive Line Watchlist. From long, athletic left tackles to nasty, pancake-producing guards and versatile two-way anchors, this group brings a mix of size, power, experience, and upside. We broke down Hudl film on each prospect (If they had Hudl film available) and delivered scouting reports highlighting what they do well, areas for continued growth, and how they project to help a team win at the next level.

• What you do well
Physical, high-motor trenches technician who plays with nasty, consistent effort. Elite hand placement and leverage — you consistently win with your hands inside, drive through contact, and finish blocks with a gritty, violent demeanor. Strong run-blocker who creates movement and pancakes (87 reported as a junior). Reliable in pass pro with quick set, active feet, and the ability to anchor or mirror. Versatile — lines up at guard, tackle, and center. Strong in one-on-one showcase battles (4Elite Prospect Showcase film shows dominant strength, footwork, and toughness). Four-year varsity starter who's already earned LA City Lineman of the Year, Marine League OTY, 1st-Team All-Area, and 3rd-Team All-State recognition. #1 OL on the LA City Section Watchlist for a reason.

• Areas of growth to take you to the next level
Frame is compact (5'11”) and you lack ideal length for some pro-style schemes that ask interior linemen to cover more ground laterally or handle long, athletic edge rushers when sliding out. Still developing elite-level change-of-direction quickness and recovery speed against college-length defenders who can slip blocks or counter. Pad level and core strength are already good, but you'll need continued lower-body explosion work to consistently generate movement against bigger, faster Power-5 fronts.

Your combination of power, leverage, and finish makes you a mauler who wears down defensive fronts and opens lanes for gap/power schemes. You're scheme-versatile (zone or gap) and tough enough to play through double teams or stay on the field in obvious passing situations. High-character kid with the work ethic (early-morning lifts, full-season Hudl tape available) and academics to contribute early while developing. Short but extremely strong and physical — the type of “pancake machine” who makes the whole offensive line play faster and meaner. West Coast evaluators already calling you one of the most talented/physical interior prospects in the region.

• What you do well
Long, athletic left tackle with prototypical frame and good functional strength who already starts and leads the Birmingham O-line as a junior. Smooth pass-setter with active feet, quick punch, and the ability to mirror rushers — your dedicated “Junior Season Pass Protection” Hudl reel (3:42) shows consistent hand placement, solid anchor, and the length to keep edge defenders at bay. Run-game film in the full junior highlights (4:29) displays power at the point of attack, ability to reach-block and climb to the second level, plus finishing toughness. Two-year starter who began playing LT as a sophomore, so you have the experience and football IQ to make pre-snap adjustments and help the entire unit play faster. Local evaluators have you at #2 on the LA City Section OL Watchlist for a reason — big body, improving every week, and the type of kid who dominates the line of scrimmage in the Marine League.

• Areas of growth to take you to the next level
Still adding lower-body explosion and core power to consistently drive defenders off the ball in gap/power schemes against college-strength fronts (280 lbs is a great starting point, but you'll need to get to 300+ with maintained athleticism). Foot quickness is good but can tighten up in space against twitchy college rushers who use speed-to-power or spin moves. Pad level occasionally rises in the run game when you're reaching, allowing defenders to get underneath and stall you out. Recovery speed after initial contact is solid for high school but will be tested by Power-5 edge speed.

Scheme-versatile (can play in spread or pro-style) and tough enough to stay on the field in obvious passing situations. High-character, team-leading kid with the frame and work ethic to keep climbing — the kind of left tackle who protects his QB, opens lanes for the run game, and sets the physical tone up front.

What you do well

Monjaras is a legitimate big-bodied interior presence with rare mass and length for a high school guard. He plays with a wide, stable base and delivers a heavy, violent initial punch that routinely stalls or displaces smaller defensive linemen in the run game. When he gets his hands inside and drives his hips, he creates vertical movement in the A- and B-gaps and finishes blocks with sustained leg drive and a nasty demeanor. He shows the ability to two-gap on the defensive side as well, which speaks to his natural power and leverage. Effort is consistently high—he plays through the whistle and looks for work on the second level when the play allows. His size alone makes him a problem for most City Section opponents, and the 2nd Team All-Northern League selection as an offensive lineman is well-earned.

Areas of growth to take you to the next level

Lateral agility and change-of-direction quickness are still developing. He can get caught flat-footed on pulls, counters, or when asked to mirror quicker edge rushers in pass pro. Pad level is inconsistent—he rises out of his stance at times, allowing more athletic defenders to get under him and control the point of attack. Hand placement needs tightening; he occasionally reaches or grabs instead of punching and locking out. Functional strength and explosiveness are modest for his frame (current bench/squat numbers reflect this), and he has not yet faced the speed and athleticism he will see at the next level. Technique in space and consistent anchor against bull-rush moves are works in progress.

If / how you project to help a team win

Monjaras has the raw physical prototype to become a high-floor, developmental interior lineman who can anchor a Power/Gap scheme and wear down defenses as a junior or senior in college. With continued size maintenance (he's already carrying 325 the right way) and 2–3 years of college-level coaching on hand usage, pad level, and footwork, he projects as a mauling guard who controls the line of scrimmage in the run game and gives his quarterback a clean pocket on quick-game passes. His best fit is a physical, downhill offense that values size and power over pure athleticism. Long-term ceiling is a multi-year starter who helps you win games in the trenches by dominating the point of attack and finishing plays with attitude. He's the type of kid you love to develop because the body is already there—the technique will catch up.

Physical, high-motor two-way lineman and team captain who plays with toughness, awareness, and a relentless finish on every snap. Your Hudl film (junior highlights and full game clips) shows strong initial pop, good hand placement, and the ability to drive through contact in the run game while sealing the edge and climbing to the second level. In pass protection you set quickly, use length to keep rushers at bay, mirror well, and pick up stunts/twists with solid football IQ. On the defensive side as a DT you hold the point of attack, disrupt gaps, and make tackles in the run game. Two-year varsity starter and captain who's already earned recognition as one of the top interior/edge linemen in the section — #10 on the LA City Section OL Watchlist for a reason. You're the type of kid who elevates the entire unit with leadership and consistent effort through four quarters.

Still adding functional lower-body explosion and core strength to consistently dominate bigger, more athletic Power-5 fronts in gap/power schemes (no public measurables listed, but you'll need to keep packing on mass while maintaining quickness). Foot speed and lateral agility are solid for high school but will tighten up against college-length edge rushers who use speed-to-power or counter moves. Pad level occasionally rises late in reps when fatigue sets in, and you're continuing to refine hand placement and sustain blocks over longer pursuits in space.

You project as a developmental FBS offensive tackle (or guard) who can step in early as a freshman swing piece or rotational depth and grow into a multi-year starter. Your two-way background gives you excellent understanding of defensive line tendencies, helping you anticipate and counter pass-rush moves while protecting the QB and opening lanes in the run game. Scheme-versatile (spread or pro-style), tough enough to play through double teams, and the captaincy/leadership intangibles make you a culture-setter who raises the physical standard up front.
