As we inch closer to the Spring rankings cycle, we've already done nearly 100 evaluations and started locking in some names we know we're going to add without so much as another look.

These players are leading the way.

From the coast to the Georgia and North Carolina lines and all points in between, the Class of 2028 in the Palmetto State is getting ready to hit its full gear. This crop will make its mark, and starting with these seven gives you a glimpse of what we're seeing on a wide scale.

[player_tooltip player_id='1819530' first='Zy' last='Foster'] RB, Greer

In a different world, Foster is already on the cusp of being a household name, having used his 9.5 yards per carry to steamroll opponents on a more consistent basis. As it stands, the 5-foot-10, 170-pound tailback is still biding his time while playing behind an older teammate. Foster is almost assuredly going to be considered the reserve at Greer for another season, but we're not seeing any reason to hold him out any longer. His potential here is through the roof after rushing for 447 yards and four touchdowns.

Su'Kari Wright LB, Goose Creek

No one is going to be selling anyone too much goods from the Goose Creek 2025 football season. The team was ravaged by an exodus of transfers that started in April and kept on going right up until fall practice commenced. What remained was opportunity to re-ignite the program brick by brick with scores of non-seniors. Wright was one of them. As a sophomore, he had 54 overall tackles and eight tackles for loss. He's got some size to him and isn't alone on that side of the ball.

[player_tooltip player_id='1113328' first='Bron'Zeir' last='Nicholson'] DL, Northwestern

Nicholson's 6-foot-3, 300-pound frame grabbed our attention first. How he moves and navigates the busiest stretch of field with all that size is what's about to earn him a nice ranking. The big defensive tackle's primary job the next two years will be to help making the linebackers behind him look even more dynamic. Trust us when we tell you he's up to that task and so much more. The Trojans are on a short list of Class 5A contenders exactly because of pieces like him.

[player_tooltip player_id='1822485' first='Mikah' last='Quiller'] DB/WR, Fox Creek

The “other” Quiller on the roster is following right along in his big brother's footsteps. He can catch passes (five receptions for 102 yards, one touchdown), return kickoffs (10 for 204 yards) and make stops (42 tackles). It makes sense that Quiller will become even more of a focal point in 2026, but even if he doesn't, the fact that he's producing in all three phases of the game with very few breaks built in tells us he's more than ready to join the rankings.

[player_tooltip player_id='2114128' first='Cooper' last='Smith'] RB/LB, Blue Ridge

The turnaround Smith pulled off after transferring into the program considerably late in the year was nothing to ignore. His first game was on September 26 against Landrum. Over his next six games, he rushed for 159 yards (6.4 ypc) and four touchdowns and caught a pass on offense while putting up 23 tackles, six tackles for loss, three sacks and a fumble recovery from his spot at linebacker (he only played four games on defense). Smith brings some much-needed toughness to the table for the Tigers.

[player_tooltip player_id='1112733' first='Micah' last='Walker'] DB, South Pointe (pictured)

Piggybacking of the work from our friends at PRZ North Carolina, one of the newest players to join the defending South Carolina Class 4A champs is looking like a significant Day 1 contributor for the Stallions when the team dons pads in May, the summer circuit and then right into fall camp. Walker brings with him from West Charlotte a knack for finding the football, creating turnovers and an ability to play multiple positions along the back end. It gives him some flexibility for the staff to get al the pieces just right after some major departures.

PJ Deveaux WR, Crescent

When the Tigers lost [player_tooltip player_id='1395080' first='Amiri' last='Acker'] after last season, the statewide angle made it appear as if Crescent was going to be rebuilding. In fact, the replacement for Acker's P4 speed and production is already there. No, Deveaux isn't quite as fast (few are), but he doesn't need to be. What he's got is an excellent connection with quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1603963' first='Mason' last='Evans'] and every chance to be a 1,400-yard guy between receptions, carries and other other way the Tigers see fit to use him. The short of it with Deveaux is this: He's going to be a problem for defenses.

As we inch closer to the Spring rankings cycle, we've already done nearly 100 evaluations and started locking in some names we know we're going to add without so much as another look.
