He made an impact on special teams this past season. On one play, he caught a fake punt and got a key 1st down. He also made several tackles on special teams. Then he played as a cornerback. He showed good coverage skills. Then, when the ball is thrown in his direction, he can make plays on the ball. He also flashed some good skills as a wide receiver. He has great size (6'3) and athleticism. He has one of the best 1st steps in the 2027 class. His ability to fire off the ball and attack offenses is impressive. That allows him to close against ball carriers. He also has a great bend and uses his hands well to engage with offensive linemen. He also has a great motor as he chases plays all over the field. He is a classic inside linebacker, as he constantly reads plays and makes a ton of tackles in or near the line of scrimmage. His fundamentals are excellent as he has a good stance and is good at triggering upfield at the right time. His ability to show patience as a run stopper is excellent. Reading your keys and coming upfield is fine, but you'd better be able to tackle as well, and Bender does that at a high level. He is especially a good tackler in the open field. Bender also showed a good ability to blitz as well. His ability to fly off the edge and set the edge is really good. Then, where he really excels is chasing the quarterback. He gets off the ball quickly, and he chases the quarterback at a high rate. He is a good athlete, and he has a high motor, which allows him to make plays in the backfield at a high rate. His strength is solid, and he also uses his hands well. Jenko is a good prospect who has a ton of potential. On defense, he was a playmaker for East Pennsboro. They played him all over the field. He played as a stand-up edge, a linebacker, and a safety. What makes his film so special is that he is equally as good at playing in space as he is rushing off the edge. That is unheard of for a player. When he comes off the edge, he is impossible to block. He uses his hands well to rip through offensive players trying to block him. Then, when he plays in space, his athleticism takes over. He has excellent closing speed, so he can bait quarterbacks, believing someone is open, and then he will close and create a play. He had two of the most impressive interceptions on plays like this. No way to spin it.
