The Georgia High School programs in Class A Division I will have their hands full when they are looking to win the state championship, as they will have to dethrone the Worth County program. These five teams have the best chance to do so, in my opinion.

Heard County

This is one of the better teams when it comes to the high school scene in the state of Georgia. They have some of the better juniors in the division, and will be one of the better teams this season thanks to the leadership of star quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='315480' first='Ethan' last='Tisdale']. He is by far one of my favorite quarterbacks in the state, and he will be one of the better gunslingers with the weapons he has. This team has a ton of talent, but the scary thought is that they are reloading. It would come as no shock if they won the state this season.

Toombs County

This team has all the talent you could want, but the coaching staff is one of the best in the state. They have been one of the staff that has produced a ton of talent on the defensive side of the ball, and thanks to their ongoing talent, they will be a contender this season. They are in a good position on both sides of the ball, and the young talent that they will be able to showcase is among the best in the class, which will show sooner rather than later.

Pepperell

Another team with a lot of young talent on this roster, as this team is easily one of the better teams when it comes to being balanced, as they have teh firepower you would want on offense, but their defensive statistics are very noticeable. Like the other teams on the list, the players have a lot to do with them making this list, as this is a team effort that won't go unnoticed. This roster is going to only get better over time, and this is something to pay attention to as the season progresses, as they look to compete down the stretch.

Lamar County

Some reporters are taking a step back on the Lamar County program, but that is something that I refuse to do, as this program can't be slept on. The moment someone sleeps on this program, they will be in the state championship race. I believe this team has all the firepower you could want, but they will need to make sure they can stay healthy. If they can do that, they will be a sneaky team to go and compete. They also have one of the better chances to actually win the state championship, in my opinion.

Fitzgerald

This is a program that has caught many reporters lacking in the past, as they have been the underdog in many seasons that they finished near the top of the list. This will be a season that they come out throwing haymakers, and they will be one of the better teams when it comes to the offensive side of the ball. If their defense plays well, they will be holding the trophy in the end. They will play some tough regular-season games, which can be the determining factor in how they do.
