CCC: Session 3 MVP, Award Winners

DORCHESTER | The final session of Sunday's Carolinas Coaches Combine on the campus of Woodland High School gave us a chance to take a glimpse into the future, and this state has plenty of talent on hand that you'll want to keep your eye on in the Class of 2028 and 2029, starting with MVP winner from Midland Valley, [player_tooltip player_id='1010338' first='Cameron' last='Gleaton'] (pictured above).   “It was really exciting. All these boys, we all compete, we all have the same goals so, just to come out here and compete with them was a great experience,” Gleaton said.   Here's a quick rundown at all the award winners from Session 3:   TOP OFFENSIVE LINEMAN   [player_tooltip player_id='1619774' first='Elijah' last='Sanders'] Newberry   Sanders consistently won the battle up front against the opposing offensive linemen, which was a talented group. He took the fight to them and didn't allow them to create penetration into the backfield.   TOP DEFENSIVE LINEMAN   [player_tooltip player_id='1816961' first='Demarcus' last='King'] Summerville   The local product was a menace up front as no one could block him, and he showed good strength and power being able to use his hands and bring the fight to the opposing linemen.   TOP OFFENSIVE COMBO   [player_tooltip player_id='1820474' first='Preston' last='Smith'] Midland Valley   The Mustangs back showed a good combo of speed and power being able to glide through contact and be a consistent weapon during the individual and competitive session.   TOP DEFENSIVE COMBO   [player_tooltip player_id='1061094' first='Jaylen' last='Pryor'] Summerville   Another defender from the Green Wave takes home defensive honors at the linebacker position, with his ability to knock balls away from opposing receivers and be aggressive at the point of attack   TOP OFFENSIVE SKILL   [player_tooltip player_id='1467828' first='London' last='Wilder'] Socastee   Wilder was fun to watch from the receiver position, making catch after catch that came his way, no matter what route was presented to him, or the coverage.   TOP DEFENSIVE SKILL   [player_tooltip player_id='1821367' first='Triston' last='Garrett'] Midland Valley   No one was successful throwing Garrett's way when opposing quarterbacks went to throw during the one-on-one or individual period.
