The 2027 Class was broken down into two sessions and neither disappointed. The second session in the afternoon saw several impressive performances but [player_tooltip player_id='1603854' first='Eric' last='Richardson'] (pictured above) walked away with the MVP honors in a crowded field.

“To be honest, I wanted to come out here and get better and compete against some of the best,” the rising senior wide receiver/defensive back at Lugoff-Elgin said. “Any time I can get in work against this level of player, it's going to improve my game and that will help me get to the next level. I just love to compete, and I feel like that's what I was able to do today.”

Richardson was far from the only award winner. Superlatives were selected for several different categories. Here is a list of the award winners from Session II of the Carolina Coaches Classic.

TOP OFFENSIVE LINEMAN

[player_tooltip player_id='1822691' first='Triston' last='Diggs'] Carvers Bay

Diggs had a 78-inch wingspan and that came in handy in the individual work against the defensive linemen. He was able to use his hands well and make the defender change directions on several occasions.

TOP DEFENSIVE LINEMAN

[player_tooltip player_id='1536398' first='Simeon' last='Jones'] North Augusta

Jones is on this list twice as he also was the top player on the bench press. He fired up the other players when he hit 38 reps on the bench but he also fared well in the one-on-one opportunities against the offensive line. He showed good agility to go along with the strength.

TOP OFFENSIVE COMBO

[player_tooltip player_id='1827481' first='Jayden' last='Hatcher'] RB, North Augusta

These next two awards might tell you that North Augusta is in good shape for the 2026 season. Hatcher impressed on the offensive side of things. He displayed quick feet, was able to get in and out of routes quickly and showed good hands as a pass catching threat.
