Bates is a stout, stubbier IDL projection, but he compensates for his length with his athleticism and activity. He is strong at the point with the suddenness to shed blocks and the pursuit skills to chase. He is athletic enough to mirror the football in space, and can close ground. A rep offensively as a TE showcases even more of his juice athletically, where he ran a route downfield and ate more yards after the catch. He comes in around 6'2 210. He is long, lean, and has room to easily surpass 220 while holding it well. He projects as a true stand-up LB long term, but I'll leave the door open to playing EDGE long term as well. Regardless, Simpson is a prototype combination of size and speed for the position. He is equipped with outstanding pursuit speed, the length to clog passing windows, and has plenty of experience battling at the POA with blockers. He is stout, strong, and falls forward at contact. He has solid foot speed and short-area quickness, allowing him to dance around traffic and even run route combinations downfield. Regardless, expect to hear plenty about him over the next few years. Dupree is a big body at 6'0 210 who carries that frame with long strides, helping him lift off and generate explosive runs. He does a good job of finding space to operate, but at his size, you expect that he will be able to bruise and fall forward. He is light on his feet, quick out of his stance, and is athletically capable of reaching second-level defenders. He hovers around 6'3 250, and is another player with the size and traits that project him to the interior. He has a lot of space to get bigger and add more strength at the POA, but the effort doesn't go unnoticed. He impresses me most in space, where he opens up and closes the space between him and defenders quickly.
