2A Georgia High School Programs On The Rise

The state of Georgia is made up of many different classes. One of the better classes in terms of growing talent is the class of 2A. These players impact their team heavily, as one or two stars can be the difference in a game and a season.   These teams have the chance to really compete with the defending champs, Carver, this next season, as they are on the rise.   <hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity" />   Rockmart   Rockmart is one of my favorite programs in the high school scene, as the high school program has a ton of talent. They have [player_tooltip player_id='1558693' first='Tucker' last='Parson'] at quarterback, and he is one of the better 2029 players in the class. He does a great job at finding his targets, as he has all the arm talent in the world.   The program was one of the teams that could have made a run for the state championship, but they fell short in the playoffs. They are likely to have an even better season this year, as they will be much older and more experienced with many of their stars, including [player_tooltip player_id='1584407' first='Jaiden' last='Thompson'].   <hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity" />   Callaway   This is a program that has a ton of talent leaving them, but even with a lot of their talent leaving, they will still be able to showcase some of their younger guys in the system. One player that they will be able to showcase is Jaquinton Williams, as he is someone with a ton of talent and was second among the teams in YPC.   This team is one of the more talented teams and one of the more hidden teams, as they are fresh off an 8-4 record. They very well could do a good job in the playoffs this season, as they will look to push for a state championship.   <hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity" />   Burke County   Burke County is entering a season that will be viewed as its championship run. They will be returning a ton of talent, as they will be returning Will Joyner on both sides of the ball, which is a huge deal for this program. He will have a much larger role and will have the chance to be the difference-maker for this team.   The main thing to note is that the majority of the stars on the defensive side of the ball will be returning. The sack leader for this team, [player_tooltip player_id='2147772' first='Sheldon' last='Cunningham'], will be returning off the EDGE, but they will also be returning Ronquavious Morris, Joshua Kelly, and [player_tooltip player_id='1158114' first='Donald' last='Heath']. The defense will be the key part of this team, and they will have the chance to help Burker County win a state championship.   <hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity" />   Pierce County   Pierce County is a sneaky pick to be a competitor in 2A, as they will be returning two major offensive playmakers. The program has a ton of talent that will be returning, but the two that catch my eye immediately are Jaeveon Williams and Chance Williams. Both prospects have a ton of talent, and will be one of the key factors in any of the success that they have on the offensive side of the ball. I think both players have the chance to be elite this season.   As for the defensive side of the ball, Kendric Benton will be back, as he looks to add some more interceptions to his name in this upcoming season. Pierce County will be a dangerous team in this next season, and one that can't be slept on in the slightest.
