2027 Watch List Rankings: Potential Senior Breakouts

Echo Hawk enters into our ranks as a WL guy and should have a monster senior season in 2026 after coming off a solid junior campaign last fall. He is a balanced runner with a good initial burst, strong leg drive through contact and balance through traffic with cutback abilities and some open field speed in the clear. He is also a willing receiver out of the backfield that can track the ball well, gets upfield quickly and can run a variety of different routes downfield and into the flats. Heading into his final prep season, he should draw some D3 interest and is a name to note amongst top returning rushers.     Grant is a shifty athlete that excels at receiving out of the backfield and can stretch the field with strong hands and tracking abilities down the sideline. As a runner, he is quick twitched to make defenders miss in the hole, has good vision in tight spaces and cutback abilities and shows he can get through the first level quickly and hit a third gear in the clear. Entering into our WL rankings in this update, the Lake City product is someone that could end up in our final rankings update later this off-season and is a key returning name to note across the region heading into the Fall.     Sheetz enters into our watchlist rankings in the most recent update after coming off a solid Junior season for Sandpoint. He's a north and south runner that gets behind his pads, shows exceptional contact balance and tackle breaking abilities in between the tackles and is a compact runner with natural forward lean and always gains the tough yards inside. He is shifty in tight spaces and can make defenders miss in the hole while also showing some receiving ability out of the backfield as well. Look for him to be one of the scoring leaders across the region during the 2026 season and he should draw plenty of D3 interest/roster spot offers.     Hunt is one of the top returning rushers coming back as a senior across the region and rushed for just under the 1,000 yard marker as a Junior in 2025. He is a strong and physical player that gets downhill, runs through contact and is a bruiser and a good change of pace back to have in the backfield. He is always falling forward and stays patient behind his blockers before hitting his second gear and flashes tackle breaking abilities and contact balance when running inside. Look for Hunt to go over that 1,000 yard marker in 2026 and draw some D3 interest through the next 9 months.     Beckstead enters into our WL rankings after making the change over to receiver as a Junior for Kimberly and was a effective pass catcher on the outside during his third season. He is a crisp route runner that can create some separation downfield, has consistent hands and can make plays on the ball in traffic. He shows a good initial burst after the catch with some wiggle in space and also shows he is a smart runner against zone coverage when settling underneath. He is another player that is expected to have a breakout senior season and should be a late riser down the stretch.
