As we head into the month of March, the 2026 high school football offseason is in full swing. With that being said, we have begun a new round of rankings updates in the state of Kentucky. The class of 2027 is our latest update to be released with an updated Top 225. Now that those have been released, I will be taking the next week to break them down by position. After already covering the quarterbacks and running backs, here are our top wide receivers in the class of 2027 in the state of Kentucky.

[player_tooltip player_id='466365' first='Ja'Hyde' last='Brown'] has truly established himself as the top receiver in the state in his class and as one of the rising prospects in the country. Brown led the entire state in receiving as a junior, catching 91 passes for 1,376 yards and 22 touchdowns in 12 games. He is one of the more polished route runners that I've watched, using his quick release and sudden breaks to create separation with ease. Brown also has very impressive speed which he uses to pose as a threat in the deep passing game and to pick up yards after the catch. He has also proven to be an electric returner on specials teams, returning one kickoff and a punt for touchdowns as a junior. Brown is committed to Indiana where I can see him having a very successful collegiate career.

[player_tooltip player_id='1200706' first='Tyler' last='Fryman'] is a player who has burst onto the national radar over the past couple years. He had a very impressive junior season, finishing the year as Beechwood's leading receiver with 62 catches for 1,320 yards and 23 touchdowns in 13 games. Fryman is a very exciting player to watch in the open field as he uses his speed and elusiveness to turn short passes/screens into big gains at any given moment. He has also shown the ability to use his speed to blow by opposing defensive backs with ease in the deep passing game. Tyler also ran the ball 18 times for 283 yards and four touchdowns, returned three punts for touchdowns, and threw a touchdown pass as a junior. He also continued to make an impact as a defensive back this past season, recording 35 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, and two interceptions. Tyler's recruitment will be very interesting to watch over the next year as he is committed to play baseball for Louisville but has picked up several Power 4 football offers recently.

[player_tooltip player_id='851938' first='Cameron' last='Wade'] is coming off a strong junior season in which he caught 58 passes for 876 yards and 14 touchdowns in 14 games. Wade is a very reliable target in the deep passing game as he has the speed to create separation along with the athleticism to high-point passes and come away with contested catches when defenders are able to keep up with him. He is also impressive after the catch, using his speed and elusiveness in the open field to turn short passes into big plays. Wade also returned two punts for touchdowns as a junior and made an impact on defense, recording 19 tackles and a team-high four interceptions (two returned for touchdowns). Cameron has received a long list of Power 4 offers and recently narrowed down his top four schools to LSU, Maryland, Florida State, and Louisville.

[player_tooltip player_id='1130910' first='Rashad' last='High'] climbed up our rankings following a solid junior season. High finished the year with 25 receptions for 300 yards and 10 touchdowns in nine games. Rashad is a very reliable target in jump ball/contested catch situations, especially in the red zone as he is able to use his athleticism and high catch radius to come away with catches in traffic with ease. He is also impressive after the catch, showing the elusiveness to make defenders miss and strength to break tackles to pick up extra yards. High also carried the ball 13 times for 122 yards and a touchdown, and recorded 17 tackles as a junior. Rashad currently holds offers from Eastern Kentucky and Bowling Green State, and I can see more coming his way this offseason.

To wrap up our top five receivers in the class of 2027 in the state of Kentucky, I have [player_tooltip player_id='1330209' first='Aiden' last='Wilson']. Unfortunately, Wilson missed his junior year due to injury but he is back on track to return for a big senior season. Wilson has very explosive speed which he is able to use to run by opposing defensive backs as a deep threat and to pick up yards after the catch with ease. He is also a skilled route runner, using quick breaks in his routes to create easy separation. Wilson currently holds an offer from Eastern Kentucky and I wouldn't be surprised to see more come his way soon as a lot of eyes will be on him when he returns to the field.
