As we get deeper into the month of March, the 2026 high school football offseason is in full swing. With that being said, we have begun a new round of rankings updates in the state of Kentucky. The class of 2027 is our latest update to be released with an updated Top 225. Now that those have been released, I have been taking the past week to break them down by position. After already covering the quarterbacks, running backs, and receivers, here are our top tight ends in the class of 2027 in the state of Kentucky.

[player_tooltip player_id='1200686' first='Seneca' last='Driver'] has established himself as the top overall prospect in the state in his class. He has the complete package as a pass-catching tight end that coaches look for in today's game. Driver does a great job of using his speed and smooth breaks in his routes to create separation with ease. When the ball is thrown his way, he uses his high catch radius to make catches away from his body with ease then uses his strength and speed as a ball carrier to pick up yards after the catch. As a junior, Driver led the Rebels in receiving with 49 catches for 875 yards and 11 touchdowns in 15 games. He also ran the ball 25 times for 116 yards and three touchdowns, and made an impact on defense, recording 65 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, two sacks, and a team-leading five interceptions (two returned for touchdowns). Seneca recently announced his commitment to Oklahoma where I can see him being a very productive college tight end under the guidance of tight end coach Jason Witten.

Boyle County will have the luxury of having two high-caliber tight ends in their offense with [player_tooltip player_id='1200658' first='Maddox' last='Hager'] returning to the team after missing last season due to injury. Hager is a very reliable target in the deep passing game as he has the speed to get down the seam in a hurry and create separation. He is also very impressive after the catch, using his speed and strength/contact balance as a ball carrier to pick up extra yards with ease. Hager currently holds several Power 4/Division I offers and I expect more to come his way going into his senior year.

[player_tooltip player_id='1314810' first='Max' last='Hunt'] is a player who has been high on my radar for a while now and continued to impress as a junior. He played a key role in the Holy Cross passing game this past season, catching 21 passes for 314 yards and six touchdowns in 12 games. Max is a very reliable target in contested/jump ball situations, using his high catch radius and athleticism to attack passes at their highest point along with his strong hands to bring in catches through contact with ease. He has also proven to be a skilled route runner, using smooth breaks in his routes to create separation from opposing defensive backs. Hunt also threw one touchdown pass as a junior and played a key role on defense, finishing the year with 28 tackles, seven tackles for loss, and 3.5 sacks. Max currently holds offers from Kentucky and Miami (OH), and I wouldn't be surprised to see more come his way soon.

[player_tooltip player_id='1715690' first='Owen' last='Pitzer'] is a player who has made a name for himself over the past couple seasons. He is a very reliable target in the passing game as he is able to use his speed to get vertical quickly and create separation down the field. After the catch, he has shown the ability to get up the field with a sense of urgency to pick up extra yards. Pitzer finished this past season with 17 receptions for 349 yards and four touchdowns in 13 games. He also scored a rushing touchdown as a junior and made a big impact on defense, recording 56 tackles and a sack. Pitzer currently holds offers from Kentucky and Eastern Kentucky, and I can see more coming his way this offseason.

To wrap up our top five tight ends in the class of 2027 in the state of Kentucky, I have [player_tooltip player_id='1715695' first='Conrad' last='Hart']. Hart played a key role in the LCA passing game as a junior, hauling in 16 passes for 190 yards and four touchdowns in 15 games. They like to get Hart the ball out in the flat quickly and let him do the rest as he has the strength to break tackles with ease followed by the speed to pick up extra yards in a hurry. He has also shown the ability to create separation down the field in the deep passing game. Hart also scored two rushing touchdowns and played a huge role on defense this past season, finishing the year with 47 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, and two sacks. Conrad currently holds offers from Ohio, Eastern Kentucky, and Troy, and I expect that list to continue to grow moving forward.
