2027 Rankings: Meet the Top Five Line Backers

The new 2027 rankings are officially released. And with over 100 new players, and multiple players positions changing, and new additions to the top five at each position, we will take a look at the new top five at each position, and what makes them worthy of a top ranking in the state of New York.   The Summer Reigonal Exposure Showcases are back, and New York has one on May 23rd. Other states will also host events. The top ranked Line Backer is [player_tooltip player_id='1363997' first='Isaiah' last='Morris']. Standing at 6'0" 225-Pounds, the Liverpool prospect, displays an outstanding frame for the LB position.   Morris is a field general, who can control the defense from the LB spot. He moves well laterally, and can stuff holes up at the second level. He is an outstanding Zone Coverage playmaker, who can wrap up tacklers at the POA. Morris is an exceptional athlete who can lineup at RB, and LB.     Moving up to WNY, the Second Ranked LB in the 2027 New York Class, is [player_tooltip player_id='1639430' first='Luke' last='Fleischman']. Hailing from St. Francis High school, the Athlete, has seen his recruitment take off in the past few months with multiple offers rolling in. Standing at 6'1" 215-Pounds, he displays an outstanding versatile build for LB.   Fleischman, is a distending playmaker, who displays a unique blend of speed and strength, when rushing the pocket. This guy lives in the backfield. Off the snap, he displays an outstanding IQ, and an exceptional ability to impact every play. In the Passing Game, he is a solid Coverage LB, who displays a good range, and the ability to get his hands on the ball.     Moving to the Third Ranked Linebacker in New York, we head to H Frank Carey High School. Heading to Section Eight, and Long Island, we have [player_tooltip player_id='1212741' first='Justin' last='DePietro']. Standing at 6'0" 225-Pounds, DePietro, displays an outstanding frame for the LB Position, and displays some good versatility, allowing to play at the RB Position as well.   Pietro has an exceptional tool bag, and rushes the pocket with speed and strength. He displays excellent range, and showcases an elite ability to utilize his hands while shedding blocks. DePietro is an exceptional run stuffer, and can plug any hole across the line.     The fourth ranked lB, takes us back to Western New York, and McKinley High School for [player_tooltip player_id='1513366' first='Kamronn' last='Minter']. Minter stands at 6'3" 185-Pounds, and displays a slim frame for the LB Position. I do want to see him reach 200-Pounds to fill out his frame.   His hands are exceptional, and his ability to evade opposing Lineman, and shed blocks is outstanding. Off the line, Minter is outstanding, and displays a quick first step, that allows him to beat lineman to the POA. In the system, he lines-up mainly as a Rusher on the line.     Rounding out the top five, we stay in Western New York, with Orchard Park's [player_tooltip player_id='1649119' first='Matthew' last='Wright']. The Western New York Prospect, had an outstanding season, with 128 Tackles, and standing at 6'2" 215-Pounds, he displays an outstanding frame for a LB.   Wright displays excellent footwork, and can move hashmark-hashmark across the field with ease, he displays a good IQ, and can stuff holes in the run game before they form. He is a quick playmaker, who benefits from speed and strength while rushing the pocket.
