UA Next Orlando: Gifted Jamarin Simmons Leads WRs

ORLANDO – After a sophomore season that saw Tallahassee Godby's [player_tooltip player_id='1671026' first='Jamarin' last='Simmons'] catch 49 balls for 996 yards and eight touchdowns, there was plenty of optimism from the coaches and teammates that his junior season would be special again. He didn't disappoint!   In leading the Cougars into the state playoffs, this impressive 6'1, 180-pounder came right back this past season and caught 59 balls for 932 yards and an impressive 14 touchdowns, thrusting him into a spotlight that spread across the country.   Not only did this all-state performer turn heads in the Big Bend area of Florida but also showcased his skills to every college coach in the country.   Last Sunday as he took part in the Under Armour Next event at Bishop Moore High School, he once again grabbed the spotlight, taking home MVP honors at the receiver position and proving that his over 2,000 yards and 25 touchdowns in the first three years of his high school career has been something that has made him one of the top recruits this off-season. Among those gifted pass catchers on Saturday were Kaden Howard (Miami Palmetto), Jamarcus Giscombe (Melbourne Eau Gallie), versatile Brian Dillard (Orlando The First Academy), Tristan Gunn (Winter Park), Sebastian Lora (Orlando Lake Nona), Jahmari Johnston (Pembroke Pines Flanagan), Lorontae Davis (West Boca Raton), Tank White (Cocoa), Camden Tietze (Jacksonville The Bolles School), Javian Francois (Miami Carol City), athletic Jordan Cason (Starke Bradford County) and Zephyrhills Christian's Gavin Davis.   The class also boasts Braylyn Simmons (Daytona Beach Mainland), Cole Emanuel (Orlando Edgewater), James Bethea (Ocala Vanguard), Tyler Lynch (Riverview Sumner), Tavares Powell (Bradenton Manatee), tight ends Canyon Henry (Miami Westminster Christian), Knud Davis (Winter Park), Owen Sullivan (Saint Cloud), DeShaun Thomas (Merritt Island), and Trent Richburg (Ocala Forest), and nationally rated University of Miami tight end commit DeMarcus DeRoche (Fort Lauderdale Cardinal Gibbons).
