ORLANDO - When he arrived at Bishop Moore Catholic High School on Saturday for the Under Armour Next Combine, there were very few people who knew who Matheus Kamiski Cordeiro was.

The Class of 2028 defensive line prospect from Winter Garden West Orange High came to compete and get his name out there for recruiting analysts, media and colleges to know about.

His performance on Saturday earned him an invite on Sunday to compete with the “big boys” in the Under Armour Next Camp, and by the end of the day when his name was announced as the MVP, he had shown that what he accomplished last season for the Warriors certainly paid off.

Leading the team in quarterback hurries and among the leaders in tackles, sacks and fumble recoveries during the 2025 season, he thrust himself into a spotlight that will now carry him into his junior season.

CLASS OF 2027 SHOWCASED SOME IMPRESSIVE TALENT

With several prospects back once again this week to compete after last week's Miami Rivals event in Fort Lauderdale, there was some quality talent that made an impact this week as well.

In addition to Kamiski Cordeiro, there were others who also stepped up their game and shared the spotlight.

Among those 2027 standouts on the defensive line were Ji'Koi Highsmith (Southwest Ranches Archbishop McCarthy), [player_tooltip player_id='1670964' first='Frederick' last='Ards'] III (Orlando Jones), Israel Hayward (Jacksonville Atlantic Coast), Anthony Cavallaro (Largo Indian Rocks Christian), Noah Prince (Orlando Bishop Moore), last week's standout Andrew Sapp (Lakeland), Maleek Lee (Sarasota Booker), Kaiden Robinson-Vickers (Dunnellon), Kindrid Outland (Jacksonville Mandarin), Jeau Pierre Furtado (Orlando The First Academy), Darren White Jackson (Orlando Lake Nona) and Wellington Palm Beach Central standout Tyler Alexander.

HOW ABOUT THOSE UNDERCLASSMEN!

With nationally rated prospects such as Class of 2028 rising junior Asher Ghioto from Jacksonville Bolles getting plenty of attention, the underclassmen were also impressive on Sunday.

Also, Javian Freeman (Boca Raton Spanish River), Jaden Parker (Miami Central), Carmello Harden (Bartow), nationally rated nose tackle Antonio Wilcher (Miami Southridge) and heavily recruited Hollywood Chaminade-Madonna prospect Alexander Beltran were also players who stepped up.

Once again, Class of 2029 rising sophomores Karsen Bell (West Broward), promising two-sport (basketball) athlete Robert Doctor (Miami Southridge), Jaelin Coach (Miami Carol City) and Martell Shannon (Miami Southridge) turned heads.
