I am proud to announce that I have joined Coach Mac, Coach Tuck, and Coach Ed on the After the Snap Podcast brought to you by Sage Media Solutions. Each week, I will join the squad during their Watch List Segment, to discuss a few players across the State of New York who deserve some love, along with written evaluations. In the first episode, we broke down the film of OL Jireh Aleaga, and RB [player_tooltip player_id='1262557' first='Christopher' last='Banks'].

Banks is one of my favorite Athletes in the 2028 class, and will be playing on varsity for the Gaels this season. Standing at 5'9" 175-Pounds, he displays a solid build for a RB, and despite his height, he makes up for his frame on tape.

Banks played the 2025 season at LB, and RB, but I feel he is better at the RB position, and projects as a better prospect in that position. Banks is a hard physical runner, who attacks the ground with each rep. He displays great vision in the backfield, and slows the play down at the LOS, allowing him to find the hole on each play. He has good footwork, and uses his legs and feet to avoid contact, and evade defenders. While he is not the fastest player on the field, Banks shows solid speed, along with good acceleration, which allows him to break through to the second level.

Banks will likely be the second string back for the talented Iona Prep Squad in 2026, and should look to improve his footwork, along with his speed. Banks is a solid athlete, and easily an underrated back in a stacked 2028 class. Keep an eye on him moving forward.

Jireh "Puka" Aleaga. The 6'4" 310-Pound Lineman, displays outstanding size for the Lineman position, and in person is massive. Puka transferred into New York from national powerhouse Bishop Gorman, Nevada, and had a great season for Fort Hamilton.

Puka was mainly used as a Tackle in the Fort Hamilton system, but with his frame, I also like his ability to kick inside and play as a Guard. He has an outstanding IQ, and demonstrates great footwork off the LOS. I like his ability to be used as a Pull Tackle, as he can easily create big gaps in the line. His strength is evident, and he knocks players down with ease. Puka is an outstanding athlete, who has little to work on. I do want to see continued development of his technique and hand placement, as they both can help him dominate during his Senior Season.

Puka is a player I can see playing at the highest level. His size, along with his skills, make him an extremely talented lineman. He is certainly a player I see having a major Senior Season, and with no offers yet for the talented prospect, he is easily an underrated player you should watch.
