One of the best-looking athletes during the Southern Brawl among the 12U group was Legacy Red's [player_tooltip player_id='1827852' first='Aiden' last='Hawthorne']. He was in contention for best overall athlete at the event and made countless plays on both sides of the ball. Hawthorne is advanced in both size and athleticism for a skill player in this age group, and put that on display all weekend long. He's a fast and explosive young athlete who made game-changing and momentum-swinging plays all weekend long. Hawthorne will be a name to keep close tabs on in the 2031 class in Georgia when he eventually makes his way to the high school level.

[player_tooltip player_id='2110014' first='Carter' last='Hogsett'] was another highly impressive two-way athlete at the 12U Southern Brawl this weekend and showcased his advanced athleticism and ability on both sides of the ball. His early size and gifted ability made him a matchup issue on offense and defense. Hogsett's length and wingspan, paired with his speed and phsyciality allowed him to make plays on the ball as a defender consistently. He closed on the ball impressively and wasn't afraid to attack the ball in the air and force an incompletion. Hogsett's upside as a receiver is also high with the ball skills and athletic ability he showcased both days.

We didn't get to see much from CSRA's Noah Snyder on Sunday, but he impressed us on Saturday during pool play as one of the best players of the day. He did so on both sides of the ball, but Snyder emerged as a top defender and a player we starred as a Top Performer. Snyder is a twitchy athlete both as a playmaker on offense and matching up in coverage as a defensive back. His play in the slot on defense in man coverage was impressive for his age, as Snyder stuck to his man easily and didn't allow them any space to get free, which resulted in some turnovers and pass breakups throughout the event.

Dquerius Brown also stood out on day one in the games we were able to see him in, and another talented two-way player representing the Motion Boyz Elite. He's a young athlete with some advanced phsycial tool,s including length and speed, that proved to cause mismatches as a receiver and defensive back. On defense, Brown showcased his range, breaking on balls and covering ground quickly. He tracks the ball very well for 12U and is an instinctual player for his age that should develop into a future star at the high school level.

Legacy Black featured some top-notch athletes during the 12U Southern Brawl, but an underrated part of their success this weekend, in our opinion, was DB Dontrelle Inman. He matched up well in the slot and faced some stiff competition from some talented receivers all event long and handled those tests well. Inman's length and wingspan immediately stand out when you see him as a long and lanky athlete who will develop well physically as he gets older. That size caused matchup issues for receivers with athletic traits to pair with them for a standout performance defensively this weekend.

We only got eyes on CapEx once this weekend, but DB Cooper Moore quickly caught our eye and was one of the top defenders on day one of pool play. You could tell he has a high football IQ for his age, which resulted in many plays on the ball in the lone game we could watch closely. Moore has an athletic body type for his age and is an overall athlete who will likely make a very good receiver in high school as well, if needed.

Keymoni Miller did a great job on the back end of Legacy Black's championship game run before eventually falling to Money Team. He did a great job patrolling at safety and has the speed to become a star at the high school, with the ability and instincts he showed in the 12U group. Miller played the ball well and read quarterbacks' eyes to put himself in a position to consistently play the ball. That resulted in many pass breakups and interceptions as one of the best safeties this weekend for 12U.

The Gwinnett Bombers 10U team playing up in the 12U group was one of the best storylines of the Southern Brawl, with DB [player_tooltip player_id='2075828' first='Mason' last='Chesley'] being among the best defenders of the weekend. Once he physically matures, Chesley is going to develop into a lockdown defensive back in the future at the high school level with the characteristics he showed as a 5th grader. He came up huge in the best game of bracket play against CSRA in a three OT thriller, with an interception as they were driving, with every possession being crucial. That helps push the Bombers to the next round. Chesley's highlights didn't stop or begin there, as he consistently made plays defensively both days.
